It's pretty messed up that someone leaked the entire art book over a month before the game release. Unlike some of Nintendo's other takedowns I get why they would be pissed about this one

I can’t remember the guy’s name but I am reminded of the time that someone in Australia “allegedly” accidentally pirated an unreleased version of New Super Mario Bros Wii a month or two before it was officially released. Nintendo sued that individual person for at least a million dollars. It wasn’t smart of the person to do that, but I hope that Nintendo will show some leniency.

I looked at a few pics of the leaked pics and realized it was ruining the surprise. I honestly want to be surprised, I want to enjoy the game and its lore naturally. I refuse to read any spoilers, I remember the week BOTW released. I had to stop looking at youtube, creators were posting screenshots with mobs and locations as the lead in pic. TOTK won’t be any different. No youtube till I play it myself.

I'm split on the direct happening. The leak is very specific and will be proven right or wrong in about a day. So it seems like such a pointless thing to lie about. But with how secretive Nintendo has been, it just seems doubtful that they'd have a dedicated direct at all, let alone one so soon after the gameplay demonstration. My guess has been that we'd get a few short videos about minor features like Amiibo's and old save bonuses over the next month, but nothing substantial until the inevitable release trailer. Ah, well. we'll all know by this time tomorrow.

The leak of the Direct doesn't make any sense to me. We've basically already had a small "Tears of the Kingdom Direct" two weeks ago, which showed us exactly what we've been missing: some gameplay, which included huge game changers, and the TotK edition of the Switch OLED. Why would there be another one? I know that people are impatient to learn more about the story, dungeons, and such, but I wouldn't expect that before launch. There most likely will be one final hype trailer, which probably will show a bit more of the story and maybe some dungeon gameplay, but that's it. Also, they've already shown us the contents of the Collector's Edition and part of what the amiibo will do, including the new Link. Not sure why this would need another Direct...

Discord has to comply to the same rules because they operate under US Laws, so the subpoena will take effect and Discord has no choice but to comply since it's an official order. It's all written in Discord's ToS, every company within the US all use the same boilerplate text in their ToS sections, there's no avoiding or getting around it, because if they don't comply, then they're held liable and can be prosecuted.

I don’t think that’s universally true. Many people who have seen the leaks were unsure about the game and how different from BOTW it was gonna be, and became more excited afterwards. We don’t know what of the leak will be revealed before the game comes out, but at least right now, it shushed some skeptics. People were going to buy the game regardless, anyway.
