I love this and its a perfect 1st timers guide to Oxford. If people have a little more time in my glorious home city the here are a 5 tips 1) Also visit the natural history/pitt rivers museam 2) Pick up the punts where the locals do - the Cherwell Boat House, perfect for lunch or punt down to the Victoria Arms for food before heading back to.the boat house 3) Get dirty burger and fries at Peppers Burgers in Jericho 4) Explore Jericho in general 5) If it's a week day use the online form ahead of time to arrange a private museam tour at the home of the OED, Oxford University Press.

This was insanely helpful ! Thank u so much !! Can u share a guide about weather / what to pack for UK in different seasons ?
@New2Napa6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, the key to packing for a trip to the UK is to plan for layers. That way, you can adjust during the day, as needed. No matter the season, bring light underlayers like t shirts or thin long sleeves. Then, bring a sweater or two to layer on top in case it gets chilly, which can happen, even in summer. And bring a waterproof jacket. If it’s spring or summer, make it a light raincoat. If it’s late autumn or winter, make it a heavier waterproof coat for warmth. If you plan on doing a lot of sightseeing, be sure to wear shoes that you can feel comfortable walking a few miles in. Hope these tips are helpful!

❤so helpful! Visiting Oxford next week. Planning a day trip to London from there - any ideas?

Thanks so much for watching and for the kind comment. Going between Oxford and London is super easy on the Oxford Tube, a double decker bus. We have a video posted in this same playlist about some fun things to do in London, like seeing the Globe Theatre and making the walk from Buckingham Palace down to Parliament and Big Ben. Hope it’s helpful!

Another great video. Love your narration & style of production. And while you discuss food, restaurants, pubs and such... you don't push the "have a pint, hit the clubs, drink, drink, drink" 24x7 as it seems so many other London KZbinrs like to push. And lastly, thank you for showing that it IS OK for visitors, ya know... tourists!... to go see "touristy" things!!! Seems obv, but again, other KZbinrs seems to criticize people visiting these. Well done! Thank you!!!

I, too, lived in Oxford during college, and it was very nostalgic for me to watch this. The Turf was my favorite pub, also. And I agree with a lot of your “must sees”-including the Ashmoleum, Covered Market, Radcliffe Camera, punting, Carfax Tower, Christ Church Meadow, and the Trout. I would include Christ Church Cathedral, Virgin St. Mary Tower, The Headington Shark, Blenheim Palace (especially if you are already out at the Trout), the Eagle and Child, The White Horse, paths along the Old Wall, Sheldonian (spelling?) Theater, Divinity School, Bridge of Sighs, and tour some colleges. By the way, I used to like to go to the Turf via the passage after the Bridge of Sighs. This was a great video, though. Thanks for posting. :)

Thank you, Rachel! We appreciate your very kind words. Thanks also for sharing your own recommendations. I wholeheartedly agree. That’s the beauty of Oxford. There are so many wonderful things to see-each with its own history and unique character. I have very fond memories of getting chicken curry sandwiches from Green’s (sadly closed now) and eating them under the overhang of the Sheldonian so my friends and I could listen to the many beautiful concerts for free and with food. Thank you again for watching!

Hello. I enjoyed your video very much. I am planning to visit Oxford in January next year. May I ask a question? Are all the places mentioned located in the city centre? Where should one stay when visiting Oxford? Thanks for your help.
@New2Napa Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the kind compliment. We’re glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, everything shown in the video is either in or very accessible from the city centre. The best place to stay in Oxford is the historic Randolph Hotel, in my opinion. It’s a gorgeous hotel with plenty of amenities and some fun onsite bars (although on the more expensive side). It’s right across the street from the Ashmolean Museum. If the Randolph isn’t available, then anywhere in or near the city centre is still a good bet. Oxford is a very walkable city. We hope you enjoy your visit!

Here’s what it says on the website: Admission University and Bodleian Reader card holders may use the Radcliffe Camera. Members of the University may borrow from selected collections held by this library. If you are not a member of Oxford University, find out more about how to apply to join the Bodleian Libraries. Public access to this library is by guided tour only. Hope this helps!

Great review! If you take the national rail, where is the train station you need to go to and also where does it drop you off in Oxford? You mentioned the bus is right in city square- is the train close by too?
@New2Napa8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! The Oxford train station is only about half a mile from the city centre, so it’s about a 12 minute walk to the city centre or a 3 minute car ride. Hope that helps!

I was lucky enough to live in Oxford from age 9 to 23. I have seen many videos like this...too much time spent on food and drink! What about one of the most famous bookshops in the world- Blackwells in Broad Street with Balliol College opposite? Nobody ever seems to go to Worcester College which has a beautiful quadrangle ( de Quincey's room on one side of it ) and arguably the most beautiful of all College gardens with a huge lake hundreds of years old. More time on the Colleges please!
