Love the vid, my guy! Resident Evil 2 really changed a lot for me as a kid. That was such an addictive game, and had everything a 12 year old boy could want lol. Can't believe the PS is 30 years old, but here we are. Excited for 30 more.

Resident Evil 2 really was chalk full of replay value and stuff to unlock, it truly did wonders to make that a system seller.

The PS1 was my introduction to gaming and it was the first console I ever played with.

Man, my parents were like that too! Buying me games as a kid that where way out of my age range😅 thank god because I feel like I would have missed out on so many games! Still sad xenogears never never made it to the pal region! Really cool with avalanche reviews has actual video footage from his childhood! Playstation was a great little box! I know its what set me down the long journey of gaming, starting off with Spyro and making a completionist out of me!

Jared's the man! And Seeing those vides really makes me wish my parents had a camera and cam corder back then. Only one in my family who have the recorder was my aunt, so there's not a lot of stuff with me on christmas mornings aside from pictures somewhere. This generation growing up these last 10 years got lucky cuz you can record everything. Oh damn man a complestionist, you have my respect because that is not an easy thing
@FriendsAndGamingYTАй бұрын
@New2RetroReviews well I use the word completionist very loosely😅 if I really like a game I'll usually go for 100%

Yay story time! So I remember getting the ps1 from a department store and the person who gifted it was my grandfather. The same old man that got me into resident evil, silent hill, and a bunch of other horror games from the 90s. The first game I played was crash bandicoot, rayman, and spyro. RE and SH were mostly what I would play at my grandparents but I was such a scaredy cat as a kid that i mostly sat next to the door frame to his game room and watch him play then when RE3 was out, I loved it so much that I used to sit right next to him to read the strategy guide. Still funny that the water puzzle was the only thing that would stump my grandpa that he would call my mother to ask her to bring me over so I can solve it for him.

Awesome review incoming , I'm totally enjoyed watching this , really made my day to celebrate 30th anniversary of PlayStation , in 1998 I was 10 years old , I got my first PlayStation , and I'm so proud I grew up with these 3 Amazing Game franchise with huge fan Base "Resident Evil" "Metal Gear Solid" Tomb Raider".😊
@New2RetroReviewsАй бұрын
its crazy how things caught fire for those 3 franchises even though Metal Gear only had one mainline entry on the system it was so strong I feel it carried it enough

7:27 Yo, I had that PS1 demo! I remember if you hit the top bumper buttons on the Playstation controller the video thumbnails would spin with a button combination on the back. Most of the button combos were for a trailer but 1 of the button combos was for a demo for Fighting Force. I remember Xenogears being featured in magazines all the time. It looked interesting but I never got the chance to play it. Since my brother bought the Playstation, my first game I played on the PS1 was 2Xtreme. It's funny looking back hearing my dad say "the graphics look so realistic."

Good Video bro the good old days wish i can go back
@New2RetroReviewsАй бұрын
legit wish I could go back too, games just don't have that same impact mainly due to how mainstream they are and how mismanaged they are when CEOs interfear with development.

Honestly getting 3rd party support helped alot, especially Square. The Saturn was actually outselling Sony in Japan and doing ok in North America before FF7, but once that released in Playstation Sega fell behind in Japan and it was all over in North America. Also while Sony made several smart decisions, it can’t be overlooked that Nintendo (sticking with cartridges) and Sega making some big mistakes during that generation helped Sony too.
