Government should stay away from these people and their beliefs and let them decide their own religion or lack thereof. Also it is not destroying a people if you rationally invalidate their misconceptions by telling them 2+2=4, not 5. However, missionaries can only tell them a different lie. Everything government 'protects' it will destroy, to bring government in to the lives of people who exist without it is far worse than what a missionary could do.
