Last year there was a limit on the number of gifts you could hoard from the Christmas tree on the festival island. I think it was 15, but I can't remember for sure. So, I wouldn't save all of my bauble ornaments until the end. Figure out what that magic number is first.

Another thing: there are mystery blobs of snow for different chop values. They will have question marks when you hover on them. If you chop those, you get the rock or clay or whatever would normally be there, but you also get extra festival points, exp and coins.

Yes, chopping does help with leveling up. Many people do that if they have the energy to spare.

This will be my 2nd year at the Christmas Fair and I'm trying to prepare by storing extra milk and flour in anticipation of the needed materials but I don't remember seeing anything like what you described as far as "mystery blobs" of snow.

Thanks for the refresher, I already started storing supplies for baking the treats so I'll be well prepared but I wanted to make sure I have everything needed as I remember it. I love the Christmas Fair, it's so fun and festive and I'm looking forward to adding some new holiday decorations on my island. I'd love to have the igloo if I can get enough Queen's coins to add to the three that I already collected last year!

snowball fights are the hardest, I am only at level 16 still because they keep eating all my strength.

Do you know how to get a lot of peppermint tokens to level up quickly? On the leader board, there are players with 20K peppermint tokens already and it is the first day of the festival!

Some people have been preparing for months for this festival. It takes a lot of pre-made stock of needed items, then a lot of gems to speed up the crafting stations. It also required sitting not stop to work the kiosks on the festival island - It's a lot of work. Some spend real $$ to get what they need. It's hard to get on that leaderboard.

@@lisetteem588 Yes, but the problem is we don't know what will be required for the Easter (Actually it's the "Spring" fest) fest. The best you can do there is just have energy saved up for the island they give us, and have a store of items that might be on your order boards. They have made us do order boards in the past for that fest.

If you feed the chalets when they are blue, you don't always get the ice carving tools. I always run low on carving tools, I have many blocks of ice waiting to be carved and no tools to do it. If you feed the chalets on green or gold, are you more likely to get carving tools?

The best way to get the tools is by winning a fight with the kids.

have they modified the amount of ice/ value to chop for statues? it was horrific .. unless I had some stocked up. it seems easier now. fighting those kids. I lose nearly every time. Taonga is mean. they want too much money for too little.

I didnt realise that after i left the portal all the snow I cleared comes back therefore the stuff I had built for the penguins etc has to be done again, I had cleared the full lot !!! I am not a happy bunny when I visited today :(

Each portal mission is a new island. The snow will always be there when you take a mission.
