It's time to go over the results from our newborn baby Liam for autism testing! Even though it might be too early to see early signs of autism in infants or babies this soon, with already having an autistic child and now possibly an autistic toddler, it was important for us to do this genetic autism test. Regardless of the results we just have to wait to see if he exhibits infant autism signs.

Im autistic and it's very interesting to see it from another perspective (?). When i was the same age as Noah i acted the exact same as him. School was tough for me and i currently don't even go to school anymore, but as you might notice i type like a pretty "normal" person. I'm happy i improved alot with my speech and my iq. English isn't even my first language, and i think I'm doing pretty well 😄 I wish you and your family the best, you seem like an amazing mother. I hope everyone grows up well and very healthy!

What a beautiful family and such a strong mom. I can’t imagine daily vlogging with a 7 week old!Your explanation of the genetic results were so well done, and your reasoning behind further genetic testing is so important! The more information our scientific community has, the more they can understand. It’s also so important for early intervention - I took autism and behavioural science in school and you’re so right in that with early intervention can help an individual with ASD so drastically. You’ve definitely got a new subscriber in me - I’ll be excited to follow along your journey!

I have a chromosomal disorder too. The doctors were excited when they found it, as there wasn't many people with it. They called it a 'ring' chromosome as it's a extra bit to chromosome #6, so I have 3. I have autism and a intellectual disability, and had extra help at school. The doctors said that I was 3 years behind my actual age. But I'm an adult now, and I think I have caught up intellectually, but have difficulty dealing with changes to my routine (autism side) and I get very interested in something and have to explain it to someone, even if they aren't interested. I have difficulty in understanding what people think, like reading their body language. I am happy with my life, and I don't see this as a major problem.

I didn't really know about this whole genetic testing thing... my older brother has autism, epilepsy, ADHD and a learning disability... I might have to go and get some testing done for my own genetics (even though I don't have any symptoms of autism myself)... btw the way you're handling the whole situation is so professional. And no matter how Liam's results will turn out you're a great mom and you can do it! Wishing you all the best :)

Hello! I'm a mother of 4 and my youngest son who will be 3 in June was diagnosed with autism a year ago. I noticed that my son seemed very different from my other kids from the time he was born (I said the exact same thing, I couldn't put my finger on it but he's just different). My son Cole has been getting services for a year now and has come SO FAR. I could cry just thinking about it. Last year at this time he was lost in his own world we couldn't even get him to look at us, now he is playing and laughing and communicating, it's really amazing. My 9 year old son also has a lot of issues, not autism but severe learning disabilities and a rare liver disease that will require a liver transplant. I'm so glad that I found your channel and am really interested in the testing that you had done. Thank you so much for talking about it and explaining it. Best wishes to you and your beautiful family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing and for being so open for your explanation (KZbin suggested your page and I just subscribed). The timing of this video is sort of perfect and I'm really grateful for being able to watch it right now. We're taking our twenty month old for genetic testing on Monday at a children's hospital an hour and a half from our home. My oldest has ADHD and all sorts of gross motor and speech delays, my second has ASD and a slew of other delays (is in a special class and is usually described as "more severely affected"), our third just has a speech delay, our fourth had hypotonia, hyperflexibility, and severe tibial torsion and "mild social affect" when they did his ADOS, and our fifth was diagnosed with autism at 20 months old on Monday (I've known since she was a month old and didn't want to be held and was constantly avoiding eye contact... so it wasn't a shock...). She also has central apnea (the main reason for the testing this time... we also strongly suspect some of the other kids have it). Our doctors feel confident that there's some sort of genetic-something going on, but we've had testing once before, on my second oldest, and they didn't find anything. But that was like three years ago, so we're hoping maybe this time they'll find something. Sorry for writing such a long comment, I just was watching this and related so strongly and was so thankful for your explanations, even though I've gone through the explanations before with two different geneticists... Anyways. I'm glad that I discovered your page. I can't wait to watch more of your posts.

Thank you so much for responding! I just remembered that I saw your response pop up when I was at a doctors appointment and I kept meaning to come back when I wasn't surrounded by kids to read it! I keep thinking I understand everything that they've told me in the genetics appointments, but then I'll get a report and read it and there will be something in it that no one has mentioned to me (last time it was that our youngest had had a brain bleed, probably before she was born, that was deemed "not clinically significant" but that no one had thought to mention to me and that the pulmonologist later told her primary care doctor on the phone may actually be the cause of her central apnea). I'm really hoping that the doctor that I meet day after tomorrow is good at breaking things down. For us, it became really really clear that something was going on genetically when I was about twenty weeks pregnant with our youngest, because that's when our fourth started really showing the hypotonia and hyperflexibility and it became clear that our oldest's delays were more than just quirkiness and it wasn't just having one child with autism all of the sudden. And it made the genetics, and really all the doctors appointments with the kids suddenly very awkward. Anyways again, thank you for your response! And I'm looking forward to watching more videos and following along with your family.

He has Autism (he was diagnosed at 16 months old) He has global developmental delays, hypotonia, bilateral clubfeet, as well as a bunch of others issues. He's had 13 surgeries including open heart. My husband and I were both tested and neither of us are carriers of his abnormality. Good for you on getting tested and getting your other kids tested. Love your channel already!

From what understand his deletion can randomly occur or be passed down. They saw some issues in utero so when I was 20 weeks pregnant we had a amino done but it was normal. There was only a 5% chance the amino would miss it. The deletion has around 180 different symptoms/issues. On top of what he already has going on we are waiting to have him tested for ADHD.

I want to make it very clear. Having autism isn’t the end of the world. My daughter who is nearly 7, is autistic and she’s a wonderful child. All autism is, is a chemical change in the brain. It is usually nothing which causes it. I wanted to make that very clear. Autism is there, regardless. Education is the best way to find out more :)

Oh I'm so touched! That's why I wanted to tell you that. You've got soooo much going on from every which way and the way you talk, the way you treat them, they way you don't complain but rather accept, are all things that show how strong you are. I have twin toddlers, fully typical in their development, and when other moms see me with my twins, they comment on how I'm a superhero, but I think women like you are the superheros and the truth is, we do it because we have to, and it's our life so we make the best of difficult situations! I know you have your moments, we all do, but that doesn't define you as a mother. You truly are taking what you were given, accepting it, and dealing with it. All while giving them love and guidance. You're only human, but you've been given a huge job and you're amazing at it.

Liam is such a cute lil guy! They all are. Noah reminds me of my son. He even works out his math problems in a similar way. I think it's fascinating that they can do genetic testing for autism. Well, for the chromosomal abnormalities that can cause it, at least. As you said, just because Liam has the chromosomal deletions, doesn't mean he'll be affected exactly as his brother has been. Same goes for Lex. But now you know what you could expect and have plans for intervention in place. :)

My nephew has pretty severe autism and my sister had genetic testing done on him and is waiting for the results. Thank you so much for doing this video and explaining it all so well. They said it could take months to get results back so it is just a waiting game.

I just have to say that during the video when you are talking about microdeletions and holding little baby, I just can't stop looking at him. He is the most precious, darling little thing... so beautiful. Ugh, he is so perfect.

I LOVE YOU!!!! I just saw your video for the first time and OMG THIS IS MY LIFE!!! I dont have an autistic child, but im worried about my soon to be 2 year old .She actually acts exactly like Lex !!! Ive never seen another toddler play and do the things she does until I saw him. They have a similar personality it seems. I think they would have fun together! I wanna start making videos. I also have a 11month old son. He seems somewhat normal so far lol. I subscribed you are amazing!!!!!!

Both my children have had issues since they were babies. Never got a diagnosis besides ADHD until my son's genetic test came back with deletion of chromosome 1 and dupq15. My daughter 7 has more of the issues ie still not potty train... looking forward to her test in may. But she was tested when she was 2 and it came back normal. If she doesn't have dupq15... which explains ALL her symptoms.... I think I'll just cry. Thank you for sharing... it's so lonely.

Not sure if they tested for it with the standard genetic testing, but look into MTHFR mutations and metal toxicity. MTHFR isn’t always including in genetic testing, and I wasn’t able to detox from metals (which can come from so many different sources) but it causes so many health problems for myself. Finding this out and changing different aspects of my life made a huge difference. It can effect certain medications that you can take, different treatments and daily things, even foods that I can no longer eat. I was very thankful to have a doctor that pushed for testing and linked things that I never thought were related, including infertility and repeat losses.

First time watching your video, my 7 year old son was diagnosed when he was 4. Never tested for genetics, my second child is 4 and no signs of autism. But you have a good point. Next time I see his doctor I’ll ask for a referral. Thank you for your explanation

You're an inspiration! So awesome!!. I'm pregnant with my third child, I have a 14 month old, and my oldest, which is almost 7 was diagnosed with ASD when he was 2. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was so afraid at the fact that she might have special needs as well, and even with this pregnancy I feel the same. My daughter doesn't show any signs, in fact she's more advanced than my son was when he was her age. But I still get that feeling, which sucks. And I know it's all in my head but I can't help it. I'm preggers with another girl, due in August and after this I'm done. I don't want it constantly on my conscience for the next few years while the other two are growing up that they might have traits. I know it's more likely for boys to have austim than girls, which is a relief, but I still get that feeling in the midst.

The genetic test is not a genetic test, if you test positive to the MTHFR gene all that is being shown is that the liver is overloaded & not able to methylate. If you detox the liver & take the test again it will show negative

My sons doctors ordered genetic testing for my son due to Brittle Bones at birth and insurance has fought it every step of the way. How did you guys get your insurance to actually approve the genetic testing? (Genetic testing for autism is typically considered "Optional", whereas we are attempting to test for reasoning as to why he was born with nearly every major bone broken in his body! Not really "Optional", but they are claiming it is. I hate insurance)
