Oh please. Looks and how easily you "bounce back" is mostly luck and genetics. There may be many things that make her a role, but not those 2 things. Good grief.

You guys are hilarious! Thirty-seven years ago, my first born, a son, was born with a tongue tie that was never corrected or even brought up! I thought that the reason he wouldn’t latch was me so I bottle fed rather asking for help, if that was even available? I’m glad it can be corrected and that your babies and kids are thriving. Thanks for keeping us posted. 🥰

Rach I always hand expressed and it worked so much better than pumping, because the pump always hurt. When you get really full you can always take a hot shower because it can relieve that uncomfortable feeling. I was a good cow, I always had SOOOO much milk. That was what my doctor had me do for relief. The babies are beautiful, the big kids are adorable as always. Congrats

What Mamas go through to feed their babies. It’s so very worth every minute. I would do it all over again if I could. I’m way past my time and regret not having more. My time body and life just didn’t allow for that. I lost two and brought two to term. I enjoyed every second of being pregnant. Even the painful parts. I loved feeling my babies grow in me. I loved nursing. I tried my hardest to nurse my first one but for some reason I kept getting mastitis. They finally determined that she had a bacteria in her mouth that kept transferring to me and it kept getting me infected. That was the only explanation they could come up with. It broke my heart. My second child was a success. I was so very happy and I loved it. It took me 11 years to have him after my first. I’m so glad that Rachel and Brad work so well together. They make beautiful babies. He is so very helpful.

I instantly thought about one of the newborns having a tongue tight procedure. That certainly can do a number on the mama breastfeeding. I am so happy the pediatrician took care of that right then and there. My niece had that done later and had to be put under to do it. I was wondering why Lyndell has that cute little speech going on. It makes sense now. Your babies are so precious! I am so happy for you both!

My son had a tongue tie that was not detected until he was 9 yrs old. He had a difficult time as a newborn and early infancy w nursing. He could not latch on well and wasn't getting an adequate feeding. Only an ounce in a half hour. My nipples hurt badly also. Not understanding what was wrong, I finally quit nursing around 2 months, maybe three. That son is 43 now and went on to have two sons who were not tongue tied. After 13 years with no more children, they delightedly had a baby girl. They too had fertility issues. Our granddaughter was not gaining weight, sleeping long periods of time. She became more and more sleepy from inadequate feedings into the 2nd week. It really hurt my daughter in law for her to nurse also. They finally saw a lactation specialist, who not only found she had a tongue tie, but a lip tie also. She had been checked while still in the hospital, but the Dr missed it. They had to wait an additional week to get an appt to have the surgery performed. During this time my daughter in law was pumping and they were instructed to give her a bottle w an easy flow nipple. This was because she was not gaining weight and kept losing. My daughter in law nursed her a bit before the bottle. After the surgery the baby was very sore. They had to regularly massage the surgical areas and were instructed to give her the easy flow bottle first and they would work on the nursing when she had put some weight back on. My daughter in law continued to pump her breast to enable to put breast milk into the bottle. They were instructed to feed my granddaughter every 2 hrs. Feedings were a long process, so as Rachel has mentioned, not much time from beginning of one nursing until the next. My son is also a great help and a hands on dad. The priority by then was weight gain. She is six months old now, is the fastest, most efficient nurser in town and is as chunky as can be and so darn cute. I have raised six children, but no twins, therefore less of a challenge than what you have. Those times are hands down the best days/years of my life. Enjoy your precious family. My best to all of you. Debbie

My son had a tongue tie and doctor only said he would clip if he had trouble with speech! I had bleeding and horribly sore nipples and had no earthly idea it was due to his tongue tie!!!! He had to stay in hospital 5 days and by then my nipples were bleeding and still no one knew it was due to his tongue tie! Oh I wish I knew because nursing was so horrible!!!! I don’t know why I didn’t put two and two together because I wasn’t nearly as sore with my first baby. Glad you are feeling some relief while nursing!!!

Thank you for sharing the information about the tongue and lip ties. We knew that my husband has one and suspected that our daughter did which is why actually nursing on the breast didn’t work out for us and I resorted to pumping. Turns out that I also have significant tongue and lip ties and is probably why I went to speech therapy in elementary school though I only have very limited memory of it. My husband’s tongue tie is extremely tight and he can’t stick out his tongue.

My daughter had a severe tounge tie. I was so out of it that 1st day I noticed her tongue looked like a snake, but it didn't phase me that that was wrong in any way! Lol! Drugs will do that to you!. But the next day the pediatrician came in and said hey did you notice this? We can take care of it real quick. They took her down and did it. She was gone about 15 min. Wasn't even crying when she came back. They said she maybe had a drop of blood when they did it. Like I said it was a tight tongue tie. I didn't know until then that it is considered a condition of having a cleft pallette! Which that does run in my family! I was glad we had it taken care of right then!
