Years ago I tried to make a really technical take on lego pinballs. It's still pinned on my reddit if you want. It's not as beautiful but it was actually my first step in becoming the layout designer on 2 virtual pinballs (Blood Machines and Die Hard Trilogy). The video is very hidden as I didn't have the setup to film it well at the time, but it's quite technical. It has motor powered flippers (using a flywheel and clutch system). A mindstorm is used for the ball locking and the 3 balls multiball. It also resets a bank of 2 drop targets and detects lost ball + dispense a new one ready to launch. Quite a gigantic project that is now very broken up.

Those are some legendary machines! The small ones are awesome. I feel like most folks get very close to having great gameplay and layout, but don't quite get there. Some of the flippers flip too far, even in nachapon's amazing build. You can see him mostly fumble around the ball a bit, never really being able to hit much of anything on that incredible machine. You'll also see oddly placed features that block out most shots. I'm not saying you have to make a machine like an IRL one, but having a variety of shots open to the player at any given time is ideal. The two I built in my mid teens probably had better game flow than a lot of the ones out there, even if they didn't look amazing or have power functions.

That's a great insight, would love to see your build. I am sure someone who knows a lot about pinball mechanics would be better suited to create a pinball machine from scratch.

Also could you please give a tutorial of how to build roads (no road plates) I’ve been trying to make a city 🏙.

Thanks for watching Naveed! I haven't made brick built roads before, but I know there are tutorials out there.

Agreed! There are some great arcade modular Mocs I've seen online too. I found this on lego ideas: ideas.lego.com/projects/09c20a79-394b-48e1-b08a-4f65ce212f1e

Is there parts kits listed for these?
@NewBrickerton Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, besides the brick loot product since the builds are custom made I don't think they have instructions. You can find instructions for LEGO pinball machines online, but they will look different.
