I went to this with my Father when I was 14. To this day my Father says this is the best game he has ever seen live. The Posh had a really good side that year (finished 10th) but Newcastle were a different class that year. That is the Moyes End stand, always a good atmosphere when it was packed to the rafters. Forest and Leicester brought big followings too, Geordies made the most noise though. Moyes End was torn down a couple of years ago for a shiney seated stand, it broke my heart when I heard they were getting rid of it. Respect from the Posh ☺

Leeds fans stopped chanting "United" like that in the early 1990's as we hated the fact that scum also chanted "United" and we didn't want to souind like them... but I didn't agree, United belongs to us, and you, and Southend, and Sheffield etc. etc.!

What a day we took over everywhere we went back then and was beautiful to be a part of, loved keegan the whole journey we had with him was something else we had no luck at all like but thats the way it fell. Great times that i dont think many other fans from other clubs could understand, we didnt really care about winning anything we just didnt want the journey to end NUFC

Fantastic away day. Sure the reports at the time said there was about 11,000 travelled. I just remember the ground was packed with Newcastle fans on every side. I was behind the goal so got a great view of Sheedys' goal. Absolute bedlam, but what a feeling!

Brilliant video - forgot that Sheedy chant! We took over London Road that day as we did many grounds at the time. John Hall was on the platform at Peterborough station going home.

I missed out as, aged 14, I looked at the map and thought there was no way I was going near London! Then i learnt of kids my age doing the train with ease, in a few hours. Gutted I missed out. Footage like this is Golden. Attended quite a few aways that season, but not this one. sadly.
