Knew they’d score knew they’d win. Took us a little time to get stuck in, but when we did the blues couldn’t handle it. They ain’t use to them type of players as well. Wilson, pope + willock won us the game. Wilson was good all game. Willock too. So that’s why we won that was the difference. A few others played okay. But apart from lashing at chances and smacking it from distance hence their equaliser, bmingham weren’t ever going win that. When we scored the atmosphere changed, amour players sensed another goal and we scored again. Really good movement from the lads with the goals. Watch willock score the winner watch the way he drives in the box. Those two will make a big difference this season. Just our fans are muppets when they slate them.

Drawn again Brighton in the 5th round... Definitely have a better chance at winning the FA Cup than the League Cup. No way will the "powers that be" let Liverpool lose a final. But with them out, along with Arsenal & Chelsea, I reckon if we can squeeze past Brighton, we've definitely got a great chance of winning that trophy.

Great game, proper cup tie. Thought the back-up lads did well: special mentions for Osula, Willock, Miley and Krafth. Birmingham kicked lumps out of us and had a lot of quality too. A really tough game, good win.

tell me which player was stretchered off! Actually I think both teams were playing tough. What else would you expect. And whilst the official scoreline was 2:3, it is impossible to demonstrate that the ball made it all the way over the line for the first equaliser. It was a very good game. I think Newcastle demonstrated why their players cost a lot more than Birminghams players, but in spite of that it was too close to call. I think it is going to be a good season for Newcastle. Good manager, good team, and good supporters!

Osula should be converted to a winger. He's pretty ineffective up top as he doesn't have the space to run into to use his pace and CB are much stronger than FB making his strength less impactful. He also needs to get his head up more, too many times his head is down and he charges forward and shoots irrespective of what's on. I like that he is direct but he should look up before deciding to shoot as usually there's a better option. Finally, he has a great ball striking technique but all the other facets of his game (finishing, passing, crossing, vision, decision making) are really poor and he needs to work on them - he should ask Gordon for advice because he was pretty poor in those attributes when he first came too.

I completely agree that Osula should be retrained as a right winger, especially now that Wilson is back from injury and the chances of playing time as a striker are very limited. He’s equally good with both feet, so playing as a right winger shouldn’t be an issue. Unlike Barnes, where using him as a right winger wastes his key strengths. I don’t entirely agree that Osula should take inspiration from Gordon. Almost every other pass he makes after a dribble ends up with an opposing player, starting a dangerous counterattack while the rest of the team is out of balance.
