Having said that, this is a wonderful overview of whiteboard options (beyond the old fashioned stationary kind where it's not only laborious to write everything out but your back is turned to students. Great way to lose an audience.). In master teacher style, I appreciate the consistency of the option overviews: product name, key features, downsides, cost, and who it's best for. Wow, I'm so impressed by how helpful your videos are.

I'm about 3 minutes in, and this is an EXCELLENT video .... lol ... I have been frustrated with the digital whiteboards I've been using, but this makes me want to go try some out and maybe even use them with my students ....

Good question. I miss a whiteboard, that is available on all plattforms and userfriendly. It needs some kind of administration and focus on collaboration. i try and test some of them - but in the end, i maybe will try to start to code my own.

I'd say Limnu is probably the one with the most realistic 'handwriting' but none of them have an import brush feature. Also sorry this reply is so late!

I got scared off when I was going try out miro. Unless I'm mistaken, boards made on the free version are available for everyone to see... What does that mean? Anyone who also has a miro account, like an open source board of content? I couldn't figure it out and don't try it. Any input would be great to help me figure this out. Also, thank for the reviews, I think I'm gon a give jamboard and limno a go

Hey Adam, this reply is way late, but to answer your question, you can make your boards private even on the free version. If you share your board though, I believe it'll give whoever you share it with access to all the boards in your dashboard. Openboard is working for me quite well for 1 on 1 online lessons. Although, now that you told me that about miro I'll give that another try. Thanks again :)

Hi. GREAT information. Not a whiteboard app, but I've been using menti for my kids in Japan (aged 6-8). Given that I'm teaching English to these kids, can you suggest which whiteboard would have the lowest learning curve so that I can explain what to do on screen with minimal frustration for all involved? I'd say Jamboard is the simplest to use if all you need is basic writing and drawing :)

Most of these apps don't have a built-in recording feature. Explain Everything does have the ability to export your recording to KZbin. The free version of it limits your video to 1 minute.

As a Kahoot! premium subscriber I got a decent discount on a whiteboard.fi subscription. I used it quite a bit while teaching virtually. I like the tools available and the fact that I can create a background image, push it out to my students, and watch them work in real time. The library feature is awesome and a bit time saver. I do not like the fact that only one room can be open at a time. So, if students do not finish work during class, I have to close that particular room in order to open a room for the next class. After watching this video I plan on learning more about whiteboard.chat. Thanks for sharing, very informative and enjoyable information!!!!!
