Welcome to my home, garden, and lifestyle vlog. Today's video I'm sharing what I enjoyed doing last week now that I am really slowing down (slower for me I should say and it's been life changing) I've been creating during my downtime this winter and I'm embracing each day versus rushing through it! I'm now living my life as if it's my last day and I really see that I'm embracing and savoring things even more than I did before. In today's video I'm sharing a lot of things I enjoyed doing since last week.

Linda, I look forward to quiet Sunday mornings watching your videos as you stroll your property and enjoy the beauty of nature all around you. Your winter poem was one of the peaceful joy, enjoying nature's serenity. I loved your thrift shopping treasures. My husband and I also scour antique and secondhand shops for treasured finds to add to our home collections. Your cooking for the week was fun to watch and I loved your wallpaper history. I have papered almost every room in our 1790 historical home. My grandmother always told me, "You paint a house, but you wallpaper a home," Your artistic taste is represented in each lovely room you've designed at Sugarwood. Your weekly Sunday morning visits are greatly enjoyed at our home. Have a wonderful week!

Dear Linda, this video did not disappoint. I will never throw away another carrot again. I had no idea you could set it in water and it would come to life. I just had a thought. Could you put oyster shells in a tray somewhere outside for the Blue Jays so they don’t pick at your house. I so do enjoy your videos. I’ve learned so much from your channel. Thank you for sharing. Have a great week. See you next Sunday.

I'm in NH too - had blue jays eating my white painted house. For several years I've been giving them egg shells frequently and I put some bird seed with it to to attract the flock (peanuts work well). I do this early December thru early March (they will come to a point where they no longer take the shells). I no longer have a problem at all. We painted the house last summer and have a winter flock of jays of about 20 birds and they have not touched the house once.

I really love that Glencraft paper, the one with the Lilly of the valley lattice pattern on the gray background. So cute for a bedroom. Or even a dining room in the right house. I have a little Wedgewood tureen in the same pink and white Husk pattern as your dishes. I’ll tell you the best thing about a hard snowy winter is the spring that follows, it’s my favorite season. You don’t appreciate spring as much if you’ve had a mild winter.

The wallpapers are so interesting. As a retired paperhanger, I used to save a small sample of every job I ever did along with the product info (manufacturer, pattern, run number, etc.) I had index cards with the customer name, etc. all stapled together. It was fun to look back at all the different patterns and how styles have changed. Those papers you have were definitely paper paper with selvedges that had to be hand trimmed, very labor intensive, but very pretty. Thanks for sharing!

One of the papers I ordered two years ago not only came in the wrong dye lot color, but it had edges I had to trim and that is past my expertise. So a box of very expensive paper sits in a closet until I figure out where it can be used.

Your property is very nice! Having a winter garden is special. I have bought the grocery store roses a couple times now and have had good luck. Another wonderful video Linda! Love your little squirrel! Mouse story from many years ago: while trying to get into a large bag of potting soil in the shed, I was moving some stacked clay pots and found a mouse butt staring at me...head was through the drainage hole..Yes, poor little critter had passed. Back to the dirt bag....while trying to scoop dirt out of bag, a mouse hopped out! YES, I SCREAMED!!! Kids came out and said, "mom there are babies in that bag, can't you hear them"? Me...nope and....that was the end of my planting for the day. 🤣 Waited for husband to come home and dump dirt out in the back of the yard.... Hopefully, mom mouse found her little ones...

Hubs and l painted the kitchen wedgewood blue, touches of white, yellow, blue, and white flowered seat cushions in the breakfast nook, and a pot of daffodils. Polished all the copper! So fun to make spring plans! And...to see Willow romping in the snow!! Did you have many birds at the feeder? Thank you, as always, for the beauty and inspiration! 🌷🌱

Mostly liked the part about enjoying the coziness of winter indoors without guilt. As a Scorpio, and I a Cancerian, we are some of the best about feeling guilt off we’re not busy. Devil’s workshop and all that. As soon as you read that line, it immediately resonated because of that. You’re quite good…we’d love to hear more as you’re inspired.

@ I suppose the upside of guilt is motivation, lol, and since Ben is another, I can see how you two get so much done. Since you’ve put it into words, other than the obvious bliss of snow on one side of the glass and a crackling fire on the other, I’m wondering if it’s actually why I miss snow so much. It’s not winter I miss, but snow specifically. Interesting notion I’ll think more about. By the way, what helps you most Linda? Is it just sharing KZbins? Are there others? Between a couple fb profiles and a couple subsites, if have a number of connections. I know how much time this takes, and genuine dedication, so glad to help.

I hope after you paint, the Blue Jays will still chew your house. I read online that there are calcium supplements, or you can crush egg shells for them. I also read that they chew light colored paint. I like your research on the wall papers, fun! If you wrote a book, I'd read it. That wool squirrel holding a heart is sweet. Have a nice Valentine's day.

I hope so too! They ignored our crushed egg shells. We ended up moving all of the bird feeders away from the house too. It helped a bit.

I miss having a sink window. This new build we’re in (open concept) has the sink in the island. Not very cozy.

Hi Linda, I think that little mouse thought the box said, “Mouse House” not “Green House”. 😉

I have a full size rose in that color and I just love it. I believe it was called “Heirloom” (but I could be wrong as I bought it long ago).

I’ve seen different wallpapers used on the risers of stairs. I’m looking for some for our log cabin.

I always save my eggshells and powder them in a mini food processor. I use them in my garden, but I wonder if the bluejays would eat them.

Yes! I wish I had more than one roll. I would consider it for the front hall.

@ As creative as you are, maybe you could make a stencil. Match the background paint and stencil on the design in the separate colors. It might work if the front hall is small enough.

I am very interested in your chicken soup. I make my chicken soup with a whole raw chicken (like my mother did). I would like to try your chicken soup. ❤
