Linda Dorough Dixon/Mountain Park, Georgia/Linda I have a great idea for the black and white plaid chairs...I am surprised I didn't think sooner...They look so perfect in the room... Turn the gathering breakfast room table around and put the plaid chairs at either end... I think you can put three Windsor chairs on either side..Those chairs are perfect in your gathering room... The black in the table and the chairs...Beautiful

I believe the first cookbook was published in the early 1500's. I know Queen Catherine of Aragon (Henry VIII's first wife) brought the salads into popularity because she ate them in her childhood in Spain. Until she did this, nobles would not eat vegetables because they thought/associated them with the peasants. The book passage you read makes sense to be in the later part of the century after her :)

If you boil your drains daily you will never get backed up. I just boil a pot of water that I use for my tea daily anyway, then pour the rest of the boiling water down all the drains. You can do it for your bathtub too, pour a cup of baking soda/white vinegar down the drain and let sit for a couple hours, then boil a big pot of water and pour down the drain and you will never have a clog or anything nasty down your drains.

I think Edgartown is where my favorite human on the planet lived until recently, Susan Branch. Her home there is for sale. My heart is broken. She and Joe moved back to California.

Sorry you are sick during the Holidays. If it makes you feel any better, my husband and I have been sick since the Monday before Christmas and are still battling it.

Lucky are the friends who get to walk into your beautiful kitchen which smells of chili and bread pudding 😄then to sit down at that gorgeous table and spend time with you, your husband and Willow. The definition of hygge 😊

It never made any sense to have no windows at the end of your kitchen, what a great idea you had. We are adding two windows to the back of our dining room too! I love the Fireplace too, win win! Cheers!
