Just traded my 2016 GTI for a 2020 GLI with the DSG. I am loving it so far. A lot of people say "It's just a GTI sedan", but as you noted in your review, it rides a bit nicer and just feels bigger. Though, I like the new 7-speed DSG, and it overall doesn't feel any slower than my old GTI. I do miss the DSG farts I guess. 😂 Overall, liking it a lot.

I've recently picked up a GTI, and my wife has been thinking about a Jetta. I'm trying to convince her to check out the GLI. I don't love the lower trims of the Jetta, but it's looking much better here in GLI form. Love my GTI so far and expect similar things from the GLI.

GLI should also hold value better, if she is looking for something more short-term.

How do you like these compared to the gti? Which would you buy at the moment?

They are both very great, but the Jetta comes with cooled seats on the higher trim models so you can't beat that.
