"Id Purpose" is a journey, "Twilight of the gods" is an Epic of great Porportions, but "The End of All"... That song is the Finale. If I was a boss in Fire Emblem it would be my boss theme. That song gives me chills, goosebumps, etc, the whole Nine-Yards.

I love the Leitmotif of all the Id-themes in Awakening, really makes you look back on the whole adventure you've had thus far. And then they mix in a choir singing Fire Emblem

Seeing Awakening, Fates, and Echoes called "older" is crazy because they're all from the newest generation of FE, and Echoes in particular was only back in 2017. Like the oldest here, Awakening, was only 11 years ago; they're all very modern. Anything Shin Monsho no Nazo and before I'd call "older".

God, ID Purpose remains my favorite map theme in the series precisely because of the emotions it makes me feel every single time I listen to it (Don’t Speak Her Name is also tied in 1st place with this.) I love everything this map theme represents and UGH ITS SO GOOD. I just love Awakening so much, definitely my favorite in the series.

My ranking would be: 1) Twilight of the gods - What supposed to be a remake of the 2nd famicom game, went the extra mile with remaking the music and this is no doubt one great example. 2) Id (purpose) - Mostly nostalgia hits when I hear the music but the track is a perfect fit for the final Map and the choice instrument making the tack unique 3) End of All - Music is not bad It has some great part to listen but my problem is that this song is split into three different track (land, Sky, Below) and they only thing that changes is what the singer say. I would've love if each track has it own unique spin

My favourite theme of the three is the final boss theme from Shadows of Valentia, and I feel happy seeing new fans enjoying the games, this is a great saga that anyone should give it a try.

The reason why I love ID purpose so much is not just music but because of the context of the game where this plays in. This song just makes you recall the friends you made on this journey and you’re taking them with you to defeat god. The hype of your teammates also cheering you on also contributes to this.

Fire Emblem music always delivers on that classic Opera theme. The other really good songs from Echos are Lord of a Dead Empire and Pride and Arrogance. As for Fates, there are actually 4 final boss themes. 1 for each of the 3 main paths and 1 more for the DLC.

I love seeing relatively new newcomers playing older FE games. As a long time fan of the series, I was so sad that almost nobody knew about the game while I was growing up. Now with Awakening saving the series, and the surge of new players, they're all coming to enjoy the fantastic stories they tell. One other thing to note, the name of "Id" is pretty significant. Staying spoiler free, the id is the part of the mind where instincts come from. So naming it that is really fitting to the overarching tone of the game.

For me - Id (Purpose) - by far my favorite as it had the entire game build up. It was everyone banding together to save the world, to not have anyone die. My first playthrough (Hard/Classic) I made it to this point with only one death (rip Tharja) but it was the determination to not let that life be for nothing. Twilight of Gods - oh my god. seriously hitting hard and trying to stop Duma at all cost. Saber and Lukas were the guys who carried my team. Saber as Dread Fighter dodging attacks and striking back to break enemy formations and allow everyone to hit. Lukas being the unbreakable wall and not letting anything past him while everyone else got healed or recovered with food items. Really felt the impending doom and roaring determination to stop Duma no matter what. Sadly, my first playthrough, I had 2 deaths during this fight and one of those was my beloved Saber. Died against Duma himself after chunking out about half of Duma's HP. I know it's supposed to be Alm vs Duma, can't remember what happened but Alm was nowhere near able to fight Duma head on, so I was using Saber and Celica. Celica got a crit or something to finish the fight.

Duma is scriptep to only can be killed with the flachion or nosferatu if have 52 hp or less Your Celica definitive make a very powerfull crit to kill him

Every time i hear id(Purpose) now i am literally blasted back to 2013 with a nice wave of nostalgia of those early 3ds years with almost a tear coming out of my eye. The 3DS era of Fire Emblem was so full of very good music. Don't Speak Her Name, No Justice (Fire), Dusk Falls, A Song for Bygone Days, A Dark Fall (Fire), Resolve (Dark), the list goes on. Every game had some bangers.

As clunky and messy as Fates’ English localization is, each of the final maps of all 4 (yes, 4) final maps are fantastic; those being the final chapter’s for Birthright (End of All - Sky), Conquest (End of All - Land), Revelation (End of All - Below), and the final dlc map that I like to call End of All Things, or just End of All; personally my favorite of them is the Revelation and dlc map one

My favorite to me is End of All-Land because Conquest has been by far one of my favorite fire emblems period in terms of how much it challenged me, and then that final map hits you with THAT spin, and how much of a final throwdown it is from the game, sure the story is the weakest aspect of Fates, but Conquest holds a special place due to how much out of the box compared to the rest it feels with the usual mechanics Twilight of Gods is also high up there after all thats the journey of the game, not justs cause Echoes is a magnificent remake of Gaiden, but because the theme is a great final send off to the themes of the game, which without spoiling as much i can, involves the name of the theme, and the final cutscene is just pure hype

Path of Radiance " Against the Black Knight" and " To Challenge Ashnard" are good ones and Radiant Dawn's "The Devoted" , "Beauty is a Mad Mistress" , "Wisdom of Ages", "Eternal Bond", and "A Grasping Truth" are great choices

Honestly the GBA games have my favorite boss battle themes. Yeah, the GBA sound compression isn't great, but they're just much higher energy than the modern themes. EDIT: After watching the video, I'd say this reaction is more about "final battle themes" than "boss battles." Final battle themes in the GBA games are definitely weaker than newer ones in that case.

Echoes is still one of the best FE games I've played, it is perfect. The story, the gameplay, and the music. Holy hell, the music.

Id - the significance of and or being there of self. There are many variations of Id in the game. (Id is pronounced like Kid with no K.) There is a way to think about this noun that makes every title with Id in it mean so much more. But that is a spoiler. The track gets better with age. Remember that. The same is true for Awakening. An opinion half the fanbase is split on, but most just really rathered the OLDER titles focused hard on the war aspects of the games. How it affects life in a nation. How people live in those times. What change is to come. The price of change. Awakening had only one goal in mind: go balls to the walls and do everything they wanted. It was supposed to be the LAST Fire Emblem. And then, this game saved it. Keep that in mind. It is an entry level game, but it sets the bar pretty high. And Id (purpose) was part of that.

I think the only context you need for fates is that the main plot revolves around the mc choosing a side (blood family or found family), and dealing with the consequences. The only constant between the three routes is Azura (she is the one singing) who supports your decision no matter which path you pick. Unfortunately despite having a really good sound track, fate’s story falls pretty flat compared to echoes and awakenings.

"Newer Fire Emblem fan Reacting to Older Fire Emblem Boss Battle OSTs" *proceeds to only listen to modern FE songs* You should make a follow-up listening to older final map themes, and I know the broader FE community will definitely be looking forward to your views on the Kaga Saga (FE2-5) As a Kaga Saga enjoyer my recommendations would be: Fire Emblem Gaiden's "Map Theme 5" (Surprisingly I think it's about as good as Echoes'), Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem's "Holy War", and of course the legendary duo of FE4's Doorway to Destiny and The Final Holy War. And for non-Kaga old FE themes my favorites are FE7's "Dragon's Gate II" and FE8's "The Final Battle"

If you ever decide to play Fates, picjk up the Retranslation+ Mod. The localization team messed up and ruined several parts of the game and the Retranslation+ mod fixes all that with other additional characters and weapon balancing
