I got one I bought in 2000, 500 miles. But it’s been sitting for a long long time. Used mostly for plowing snow. Even when new, the (secondary) manual pull start was difficult. Now, gotta find a short and also clean carb. Get back running

They're great machines, and the 4wd in low works wonders! The compression stroke is killer on these big 500's. Thanks for watching!!

You guys didn't need to remove the front plastics to pull the tank. There are caps you can pop off to get to the bolts that hold the front of the tank. They can be seen in your video when you are reassembling speedometer.

Hi We just purchased a Quadmaster 500 it's a 1998 and wondered if you have ever replaced the carb on one? We aren't sure of the year. The guy we bought it from couldn't recall for sure. New to this so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Nice! Very stout reliable machines! I own a quadrunner, the 5spd brother to this one. Wish I had the selectable 4wd like the quadmaster tho. Chinese jets never come with the correct jet sizes it seems. Get rid of that vacuum petcock tho. Will cause nothing but issues.

The Quad Master is an absolute ripper. Our buddy has a Quad Runner that we posted a video about a few weeks ago. We ended up getting the jetting all sorted out. This upcoming week’s video is a feature on the Quad Master and a big disaster we found with it! As for the vacuum petcock, we rebuilt it. So far it’s running tip top, but if we have any issues with it, we will definitely swap it out.

@@rustednutrepair675 About a month ago I ended up finding a quadmaster near me, got it, got a couple rides out of it then believe the bevel gears blew. Wont move and belt is fine. Clutchs move. Had to have ppl I rode with pull me back. Bunch of clanging come from engine/transmission. Engine still runs mint. Some research found that its unfortunately a common issue on the quadmasters. Theres an atv mechanic on youtube that had someone bring him one with the same failure. Quadrunner is down aswell. Quadrunner apparently had a cracked case someone previously had jb welded. Cracked further and ran it low on oil nearly seized it :( wont hold oil now. I have a parts quadrunner thats nearly stripped of everything but the engine. Before I toss it on im gonna pull it apart and inspect everything. An upgrade on these is the vinson 500 piston. Raises your compression quite a bit from 8.5 to 10.2 as the vinson piston isnt as deeply dished. Supposedly a direct swap but we'll see when I try to toss one in. Hopefully after I have my shop built going to be able to tear into the quadmasters engine aswell to see what happen to it.

We only run 93 in our machines.

Any advise on replacing the stator on one of these
@rustednutrepair675 Жыл бұрын
We haven’t had any stator issues. If we do, we will post a video on it. Should be pretty self explanatory though. Remove the recoil, magneto, unplug the wiring and remove the stator. Thanks for watching!

Good video! Have you worked with the KingQuad/Quadrunner? Reason I ask is that I like those atvs but they are a pain to work on and I wonder if the Quadmaster is better in that department.
@rustednutrepair6753 жыл бұрын
Our buddy has a Quad Runner. We did a video on it, but we’ve both been really busy with our jobs lately due to all the staffing shortages in our area that we’ve been behind on our machines. Stitches is going to try and get back into it again really soon. The Quad Master wasn’t terrible, but there are a few redundant steps to fixing things.
