Failure - Daylight. Now that's referencing, excellent choice !

The feature would be much more useful if it was not limited to real-time matching. Newfangled folks, please allow the user to create and save eq match "curves" to recall later so a new reference track does not have to be sidechained/learned in real time. The EQ Match feature in Pro-Q is a good example of this type of workflow. In effect, the user can create a library of reference tracks. I do prefer the end results with EQuivocate more than using Pro-Q or any other plug-ins that I've tried. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the feature request. I agree that this would be nice. We'll have to take a look at this at some point.

I agree. IK Master Match (less powerful than EQV though) has this feature where you can upload a WAV file as a reference. If EQVO had this, it would be awesome !

I'm not familiar with that DAW. I'm using ProTools 11. I don't see how to get the desired audio side-chained into the channel that will take the match. Also, if I can manage to get this working, it seems that it only works for matching audio that is playing at the same time on another track. Can you get an EQ match from elsewhere on or off the timeline? Like EQ Match in Izotope RX?
@pgmorrow7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I spotted the key icon on the AAX version and I got audio into the EQ match input. And I temporarily copied the audio with the desired tone onto another track. It does a nice job of matching the EQ as long as the input level is close to the level of the sound that you want to process.

Can anyone suggest software which allows the user to match the eq in realtime - like the way Match eq is analysing the track here - but which instead allows this to be done throughout the entire track rather than simply for a few seconds to plot an average? Thanks :)
@Trainingsnacks7 жыл бұрын
Not sure but with EQuivocate you can play the entire track through the Match EQ. It just doesn't take an average. Its dynamic and will change as the track plays.
@1988dongiovanni7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply! I also thought that might work but I have been getting mixed results. Although the matching is dynamic the response is a bit slow for what I am trying to achieve: Match EQ spotted when the reference signal was boosted but was not sensitive enough to react when that signal was subsequently cut shortly after.

i have Cubase Essential 5 and downloaded 1.0.6. version, maybe I´m too stupid, but matchEQ don´t work....

no way to drag and drop a file to match it? and why does it not work in Catalina OS X?
@NewfangledAudio2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, it does work in Catalina, if you're having problems you can hit up Newfangled Audio support and we'll figure out what the problem is. Unfortunately, it is real-time matching only at the moment.

Equivocate does not create a sidechain send or output in Cubase 9 on PC. I checked one compressor and it immediate;y crated a sidechain. Nothing appears as output or send for another track to send to the track Equivocate is on. I reloaded many times and toggled the Match EQ to nothing happening.

only too bad for ableton users. I have the feeling Live will support vst3 when blade runner 5 comes out

Saar Dean Don't mix on Ableton... FL Studio , Ableton , Bitwig etc can mix but making a proper mix it's better to use DAWs like Pro Tools , Cubase , Reaper , Studio One... This is my opinion at least.

how do You use the match EQ in DAW like, logic pro and studio one pro
@Trainingsnacks7 жыл бұрын
It should work like any other plug-in that employs a side-chain. Most likely it's similar to the bussing example we did in this video.
@leslyremy60027 жыл бұрын
We're asking because it's not a simple as YOU seem to think it is. So please, how does this work in Logic Pro X? For us "slower" ones.
@RodneyD4 жыл бұрын
Place the eventide eq on the channel that you matched. Turn on the match eq on then go the side chain box on the top right. Then in the sidechain box scroll to the channel you want to match. Play both channels at the same time to analyze the source channel. Id suggest playing until the source channel for about 20 seconds or until it ends. If it’s really short I’d copy and paste it to make it a little longer so the match eq can get a good analyzes of it. (Don’t forget to delete the pasted section afterwards). Then turn off the match eq (not the plugin)... You’ll hear the matched curve on the channel you wanted to match. You’re welcome

Am I interpreting the word "compliment" wrong or should it really be the opposite of what's been done in the video ?
@Trainingsnacks7 жыл бұрын
Great observation but we didn't mean "compliment", we meant "complement". It's a different word although they sound the same. blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2011/04/compliment-or-complement/
@MiCKEYTheKiDxlYLPlx7 жыл бұрын
Oh, I just copied the spelling from the vid not even thinking about it, but I understood what you meant. What I was hinting at was that it looks (and sounds) as though you're actually raising the lower frequencies on the synth, although I would expect you to do the exact opposite in order to complement the drum & bass and "cover all frequencies of the spectrum in the song".
@Trainingsnacks7 жыл бұрын
.mtk yeah it's weird that in this particular example the drums and bass didn't occupy the lower frequencies as much as traditional tracks. Good catch on the video though. Sorry for the inconvenience, auto-correct blows.
