when drilling the lifters (bottom row of holes)are usually drilled out first to prevent the fines ( waste material from drilling) from blocking access to them, they are then fitted with "lifter tubes"so they are still accessible after the fines have piled up at the bottom.

Split sets are illegal in Canada for use in the back...this must be a depiction of mining in other jurisdictions...where life is cheaper.

Split sets work fine. Been under them most of my career. They said a mine in BC.

its so giant and so slow process i just wonder why they just not digged fron the top and how it will not colapse after a timeall this mega cave will not last long stable

It's called block caving because they cave the mine in on top of them, in blocks.

10-15 years establishing the infrastructure,then draw the ore body until depleted or subsidence becomes an issue.

This Block Caving looks way too complicated - just cut the roof off the hill & open cast the seams...
