People have explained Cool with You already so I'll explain Get Up, its obviously an interlude but Hanni was saying in a live the other night that "Get Up" is a taste of the genre we can expect from them in the next comeback. So be fully prepared for full on RnB from New Jeans in the new album sometime in the next year 🔥

Cool With You: I wrote this in another reactors comments, here is the really really really really abbreviated and oversimplified summary - She's a Cupid, she falls in love with a man, she becomes human, they spend time together, at the end the other angel says nope, and yeets her mans to fall in love with another girl, cause Cupid aint doin her job, and she's sad. New Jeans are like Cupids guardian angels. It's based on Greek mythology, specifically Psyche and Eros. That is the very simplifed explanation.

I appreciate it, sometimes starting with a simpler explanation can help figure out what I do and don't understand. It seems pretty straight forward overall, however I know they are known to throw in a fair amount of nuance in the video to keep it applicable

Cool With you - Cupid/Psyche reference. Put it into modern kpop idol perspective. Idols cannot date as long as they are idols. ETA lyrics - gossip ETA MV - revenge fantasy (murder?) shot on iPhone14 pro, Boy's be always lying though.

@@BestFriendsReact Can't argue with that brother. The way this MV goes, it's a call back or inspiration to the "Shot on iPhone Linda H." meme. The trumpets just goes bonkers. NewJeans really tapped into that nostalgia factor.

@@lomahtw the prize of studying too much NewJeans videos. haha. Ditto and OMG started the trend of idol-fan relationship, they continued here but with a mythical reference. Plus with the same director/writer. Simply telling the viewers that this is Kpop, this is reality.

@@ykakas41 it would be a crime if i didn't click the 'like' button. one of things that Newjeans is getting very popular is their things are often new and refreshing compared to other girl groups. not saying who is better or worst, it is more just something rather been seen before and also happens to be good at the same time.

Rain usually symbolizes cleansing or beginning anew. That makes sense to me because in side "B" she builds the courage to engage this guy in a manner in which he can see her. Not sure what Tony Leung's character symbolizes, perhaps doubt? Or maybe he is her colleague saying her choice to show herself to the guy she is attracted to is wrong.

Its helpful to know there's an entire genre of K-dramas that involve deities bored with immortality who are saved by the love of a mortal. I recall one involved a terminal cancer patient falling in love with the literal incarnation of doom.

I was waiting for your reaction since they dropped the videos just to see you guys struggling with Cool with You, amazing reactions as always, and I cannot wait for the ASAP reaction when they drop the video in a few days 😂😂😂 At first I thought that the main character of CwY was the Cupid, the man at the ending was God or some shit and the girls were guardian angels... But people said that it's actually Eros and Psyche, and Tony Leung is Aphrodite (they swapped everyone characters genders), and NewJeans are indeed guardian angels...

Just a side note, Cupid and Eros are the same. Just like Venus and Aphrodite are the same, it is just different names because one is roman mythology and the other greek mythology. So you were right about her being cupid. Psyche I believe is used in both roman and greek mythology.

R.E. ETA: You are correct, it is implied she hit the guy, he's in the trunk, and he's goin off the cliff lol, a pretty bold MV. The only thing I do not like about the song though is the trumpets, my preference would be for them to not be there, in the parts where they aren't blasting, it sounds really good. Otherwise, the chorus is catchy, and will be stuck in my head. Also, FYI New Jeans is considered 4th gen K-Pop.

I can see the horns being overbearing at times... What defines the generations? It seems weird to me that groups like (g)i-dle and new jeans would be the same gen... I'm assuming it's one of those things that are easier to define and see in hindsight

@@BestFriendsReact I'm new to kpop, really just here for newjeans but i keep hearing the gens a lot, some say each kpop generation are in a matter of 4-6 years but some say it's when the sound of kpop music shifts. It's confusing bc I think it just moves to a new gen when they feel like it as it was a discussion when newjeans debuted bc of how different their sound is but apparently it's too early for 5th gen.

i know im 9 months late but ETA is actually very similar to ditto... the girls are a part of 'evas' imagination and she also sees them through her phone.. she uses them to fuel her paranoia about the 'boy' who may or may not even be her 'boyfriend' but its someones shes clearly obsessed with... also the entire 'getup EP' is based on clubland music.. most specifically centred around 'mainstream uk garage' ( a genre which it seems most non brits havent heard of before) and fused with similar dance genres such as mimi bass, jersey club and drum and bass....

Yeah, I'm a fan of sleep token, we have a couple of reactions to them, but they started blocking some of the videos so we stopped reacting to them... but I really like the calm ominous undertones of the band and the singer is awesome he is both powerful and unique

They definitely need if what they are doing need more money since they have creativity freedom Ador said that they receive same budget like other sub label under hybe and also labels need money to survive and paid the dept to get profit and pay their workers and the girls .they profiting from every collaboration and it's win win situation for Coco cola and newjeans
