Agree!! @EKS511 commented on xCeleste reaction the following theory and I 100% agree: "They called and told Eva they saw her boyfriend with another girl at this party. Now she's obsessing over it. All she can think of is that phone call and what they told her, So when she looks at the cop she sees NewJeans. She looks at the gas station attendants she sees NewJeans. She sees them in the car too. It symbolizes her obsessing over the phone call. And she's picturing him with the other girl in the pool, on the hood of her car and in the car. Then of course the end where she dumps his body off the cliff." This last sentence just ended me and I laughed so hard, but the revenge fantasy fits even better :)

I feel this is not believing everything we see on the internet. Like the guy and the girl that he was ' CHEATING' on Eva with was actually a lie! It was Eva's imagination, it was all in her head,but she believed it. However i love this theory I feel this tells us to not believe everything we see in the internet (just my opinion)

ETA Theory updated: the underlying theme throughout Newjeans MV’s is that they aren’t really there. They are an outside presence helping and supporting whoever the main character is. Notice during the first phone call you can hear Dani saying “we have to perform”. Indicating that they are an idol group not her real friends. In ETA, (opening scene in the car) you can see the emerald (emerald represent life and renewal) next to the phone. Later on u see the same emerald bracelet on the cheating bf when he’s on the car hood with the other girl. This indicates everything in the MV already happened while Eva in the car is the present. The scenes that follow: Eva looking the the rear view mirror seeing her bf and other girl kissing Eva in the car in the pool seeing her bf and other girl kissing Newjeans in the gas station(with mics on) Newjeans as cops Newjeans in the car with her driving through the tunnel Eva (kinda) running over bf(does that look like a couple who’s been run over?! Nope) They staring at her lol. THIS is all a fantasy. Imagining Newjeans are her friends who are looking out for her and spilling the tea. Believing all the rumors of her bf cheating and then imagining when and how he cheated: pool party, swimming pool etc. Fantasizing about running him over. People who’ve been cheated on will sometimes fantasize about getting back at the cheater. Revenge fantasies it’s called. Though most don’t do anything of course. The ending scene: The underlying theme of some of Newjeans MV’s, they are there to support and comfort. Ditto, Cool with You. Eva, with the help of Newjeans (we see Hanni and Minji in the car mirrors) finally gets over the cheating bf. The shirt in the trunk and the running over is a metaphor for her finally getting over it and ridding herself of all the pain and angst from getting cheated on. So, no, Newjeans is not advocating violence when cheated on, lol. Another brilliant project by the same director as Ditto and CWY, represent the parasocial relationship between idols and their fans. How music and their relationships with singers can help through the most difficult times in life. Hope my view helps. Ty

It’s a revenge fantasy. Newjeans is Newjeans not her real friends. The girl thinks her bf is cheating so she imagines him with another girl. She sees them in a swimming pool while she’s in the pool in her car. She sees them in her back seat kissing. Obviously not possible situations. Notice the ear things and mics Newjeans are wearing during the gas station dance scene. And Newjeans as cops. Not reality. Just her imagination. Even when she’s driving scene we see a couple of Newjeans members in the car. Not actually there! The shirt in the trunk symbolizes her getting over the cheating bf not her killing him and dumping him in the trunk. It’s a metaphor. In her mind Newjeans is always on her side and always there for her, helping her through the rough times. Kinda like Ditto. Hope this helps.

the director (or something, i don't really remember what position he is) said eta is about how rumor affects life. yes, the first layer of the story is nj seems protecting eva from a cheating bf (and may or may not resulting in murder crime) but the deeper layer of the story is nj are unreliable narator, they are rumor speader and that drives eva to believe her bf is cheating

I know this is super old but they get the good quality because by default your phone only shoots like 1080p or something but in settings, go to the camera app and you can change it to 4K 60FPS, and for the smoothness they're using the 14 pro's Action Mode

It is shot by an IPHONE but majority of the edits are done using apples Pro-res to get the best video footage and to flexibly edit, then through i would asummed Davinci video edit. Basically its possible but the edits are a different story

@@shaisaiiasiahs yess! i was thinking that there was a similarity to the omg video as well because of the whole iPhone thing. also, they were supposed to be in a mental hospital in that video, and Newjeans technically never existed (Hanni was the only one that knew). that may explain why we can't see them in the car at the end of the ETA video. either way, Hanni and minji are super important to the concept in both videos. I just haven't figured out how yet.
