Everything that we see in the music video with NewJeans singing and dancing are all imagined in Eva's head as scenarios because we actually see that they were not able to get in contact with Eva (member's missed call on Eva's phone). We can assume that the call in the beginning wasn't real. The scenes with Eva driving are post-murder of her boyfriend because the green-jeweled bracelet that the Maria (second female character) gave to Mikel (Eva's bf) was already in the vehicle in the beginning of the MV next to her phone before she drives off. We can also see that Eva is the hidden driver in the scene where NewJeans are with her in the car spilling the tea about her boyfriend, however, they are actually not in the car with her as these supposed rumors are what ultimately made her commit the murder. Additionally, Eva running over Maria and Mikel is there as distorted reality maybe as Eva's way of justifying her actions. In my opinion, the underwater scene where Eva sees Maria and Mikel kissing is an expression of these scenarios suffocating her and foreboding of what she does at the end of the MV. In any case, Mikel is already dead with the shirt sticking out the trunk. Lastly, the MV director directly states that "NewJeans who happen to be the ones delivering the supposed cheating rumor in the plot, is also subject to whether we should believe their truths." Adding that the "truths" seen in the music video are either distorted or exaggerated. In conclusion, we can assume that NewJeans serves as either one of two points: 1.) they are an unreliable narrator of the plot as we can really only know Eva, Mikel, (and Maria's) relationship through the lens of NewJeans with implications in the lyrics that "we have to trust them". 2.) an allegory to misinformation that influences someone's actions as we see that the director could be using NewJeans as a personification of distortion of facts and biased statements. According to the director's direction, the story is meant to depict how another one's thoughts can influence one's own actions or reality; and how we often don't validate what is factual anymore. I think both of those points along with the murder plot tie in with the scenes where it's nighttime at the pool party and the camera flashes are pointed towards NewJeans as if they are under the spotlight while the members themselves look uncomfortable being surrounded by faceless people. Almost like the crowd was pointing fingers at them. Also, we see NewJeans "sitting in the car" with Eva at the end and I think that alludes to the fact that they had a great amount of influence with their words towards Eva (like they were an accomplice to the murder) which made her act on murdering her boyfriend.

At first viewing, it seems like Eva’s boyfriend is cheating with another girl. But after multiple viewings and much closer look at the details, you can see that all of this is based on a rumor she heard from her friends. The key words are “Heard Him Say” and the listing the days the friends “caught him” when Eva wasn’t around. So in a fit of rage Eva goes and killed her boyfriend without even confirming the facts. The lesson here is that we hear both facts and misinformation on the internet, social media and, even from friends and family. Until we can verify what’s real and what’s not, it’s best not to react rashly and irrationally.

I like that it's implied, at least to me, that Eva can at least understand Korean by the way the girls were switching between English and Korean. you can tell Eva is at least European or maybe a mixed girly. I like to headcanon that at the very least she can understand Korean but most likely speaks enough to keep a convo going or something. even though it was most likely done to give all the girls at least one line and make it easier for all of them. I thought it was a fun detail.

10:04 OH MY GODDDDD I FINALLY GET IT!!! I was also confused with Esosa. For the longest time I wanted to pinpoint where exactly I heard a song that sound like this. And you know what? ITS THE FREAKIN IPHONE AD SONG!!! The one that’s from the meme “shot on iphone” or something. That trumpet or whatever that brass instrument is called sounds so similar to the one used in the meme song. And the fact that this MV is an iPhone ad as well, my mind is blown… but it can rest now…. I don't think you missed something. I watched all NewJeans MVs and I also don't get what does Jiwon breaking up with his girlfriend have to do with Eva's boyfriend cheating on her lmao I supposed they're listing things that happened the day Eva's boyfriend got caught cheating or different events in which they got prove about how sketchy the boy was (and those days Eva wasn't around but NewJeans was)
