Worlds being hosted in Korea always come in high budget. Like if you ever wanna go to a Worlds event you have to go to Korea if you want the best experience. E Sports there are taken super seriously. Even the President of Korea praised T1 for winning etc. So no surprise they fund these events so well there.

Riot does this every year. There games are the only ones that have a international ceremony held each year in a different country. And this is the WORLDS OPENING Ceremony. Not the Finals. You should see the ones from previous years if you liked this one! They always go all out. I believe last year they collaborated with J.I.D too for the release of Arcane!

The game has big budget and opening are big every year in different countries but when Its host by korea they go much bigger. They go big on music stages. America is the richest countries in the world but why they so cheap on resources when they do their performances stages in america. 7/10 time. Even the vma , billboard award, grammies are so subpar to Korea live stages. You would expect america stages to go big but its the opposite

Riot is rich AF, like most video game companies. Difference is they aren't publicly traded on the stock market, so they don't have to pay out money to a million share holders. So they can spend their money on stuff like this instead making their brand even bigger. They make no direct profit from their Esports division, but they know it grows their profits as a whole long term. This year over 6 million people watched the finals live and world wide i think the VOD had 300 million views on different platforms in 24 hours.

Riot spends that chedda when it comes to their esports. Even though they are barely making any profit (if you include all markets) if not actually operating on a minimal loss. But for them esports is marketing. It's like F1 is marketing for car brands such as Ferrari. And the result of that is a new record-breaking audience... 10 years after the game was launched.
