아련함은 나이가 들어야 와닿는 감정일 것 같지만, 10대일 때 느끼는 센치함 속에 있는 순수한 형태의 아련함이 있다. 뉴진스의 작곡가와 프로듀서들은 y2k시대에 10대와 20대 초를 살며 그 감성을 느껴봤던 사람들이다. 원래 감정의 한가운데에서는 표현이 어렵다. 시간이 지나고 나서야 어떤 분위기와 어떤 환경이 그런것들을 불러 일으켰는지 이해하게 되는 것이다. 해가 질듯 말듯한 시간. 10대의 끝. 좋아하지만 이루어지지는 않은 사이. 모두 즐겁고 불안하면서 영원할 수 없는시간이다. 문득 보고싶지만 매일 네생각만 하는건 아냐. 안녕, 이라고 썼지만 보내지는 않을래 좋아하는 친구와 같이 모여 걷고 웃는 사이에도 문득 센치한 것은 이른 초저녁의 번지는 햇빛 속 뿌연 색감과, 아직은 이루어지지 않은 누군가와, 10대의 내가 지금 느끼는 소중한 감정과 즐거운 시간이 애틋하기 때문이다. 이 뮤직비디오에는 그 시간의 사랑스러움과 아련함이, 조금은 더 어른이 된 사람들이 바라본 있는 그대로의 모습으로 담겨 있다.

Well I just turned 34 how about that lol! Their music is good you know, it transcends generations. Their genre reminds me some of the early 2000s Pop/R&B music that I've grown up listening to like Utada Hikaru's - Automatic, Janet Jackson's - Together Again, Tamia's - Officially Missing You etc... Even their fashion and music videos were influenced by the early 2000s nostalgia. For example the 4:3 TV aspect ratio on this Hurt Remix music video, the baggy pants fashion in Attention and Hypeboy, those sort of details.

Hurt is probably their most underappreciated song and I love that they still made 3 versions of it, including this remix. I think what's even more amazing is that they look super natural (no plastic surgery) and are not overly made-up.
