The video for supernatural is set in the 80s (and timeskips to present day) i have a limited knowledge of American Football but i do recall cowboys being really good and dominating in the 80s... so they would be popular in the time period its set :) correct me if im wrong anyone who knows more about american football than me :)

NewJeans arent Y2K all their genres are 90s (no hate lots of gen z dont remember that far back so assume newjeans are early 2000s).. supernatural is 'New Jack Swing' a club/dance variant of RnB popular late 80s to early 90s... it actually reminds me of Bobby Brown 'Every Little Step'.. Right Now is (as you pointed out) late 90s Jungle/Drum and Bass like Roni Size or Goldie... (albeit newjeans have a softer mellower vibe to the traditional sound of the time)
