As a Leaf fan who’s always liked the Devils, I’m pretty excited to see a hopefully healthy Devils team make a run here. I think Keefe is a good coach who was just in Toronto too long. I don’t think he lost the room, but I do think the message got stale. Whether Keefe has adapted or not (he should, it’s a different team), it’s a new message for NJ. They have had some good additions… this is a team that I thought could be a contender over the last couple years… but injuries and goaltending have been a problem. Hopefully that’s addressed, and sky’s the limit. And of course the Leafs would lose to Keefe in the semis because that’s the life of a Leaf fan.

Except the Devils are a younger version of the Leafs. A few high skilled forwards who feel bigger than the team with no ability or willingness to defend and suspect goaltending. If he couldn't get the message through to the Leafs with their annual playoff flops why would New Jersey be any different?

Rooting for you guys as well. I always try to watch leafs games during the season, they're always fun to watch. I'm gonna miss seeing Keefe behind the bench there, but I'm so happy we have him I think he's a great fit for what the Devils have.

Keefe isn’t terrible. He’s just not good enough. That being said he’s a likeable guy

To respect this players privacy I won’t say who but a Devil came into the store I work at today. Down to earth humble and honestly a pleasure to talk to. Can’t wait to see what this incredible group of players is capable of.

Sheldon Keefe is the ultimate professional, players like to play for him and give him full respect... He is also the best press Conference Coach, very good speaker. Jersey fans are going to love him.

Honestly, the Devils have a much more well-rounded roster than the Leafs right now. Wouldn't be surprised to see NJ finish with more points than Toronto this season. Leafs front office is pretty questionable going into this season with such weak winger depth, weak bottom 6, weak defence corps, and weak goaltending. All this talk of change after last season's playoffs, and they're going into this season with a worse team overall...

Already a red flag. He still doing this one big issue/ HE IS STACKING ONE LINE. STOP IT. Give Nico one of Meier or Bratt. There is no reason for stacking one line, you do that during game. Mercer and Nico didnt mesh well last season. so stop wanting that 22 line to work. Timo was cooking when he was with Nico. Plz dont bring your old habits to NJ,he slowly letting those old habit out. Balance the lines and PP just be smart for once.

Keefe is a good coach, but I think he’s a players coach probably better suited in the American League or juniors where the drive for players and the coach is to get them to the nhl. I think he’s really good at that level not so much in the nhl. Some people have it and some don’t, it’s about knowing your limits…but let’s face it, it’s about the $$$ at the end of the day.

95% of the NHL Coaches are players coaches now, that style only works for 1-2 years, then gets fired. ..Its gone out of style.
