You don't see it in the statline, but Eli's performance against the Niners in the NFCCG remains one of the best QB performances I've ever seen. Eli spent the entire 2nd half buried underneath Justin Smith. The 2008 season was the heartbreaking one. They had the #1 overall seed behind a rushing attack that gained 2,500 yards, a ferocious defense led by Justin Tuck's breakout season, and then... it all came apart. The defense was dinged up and started struggling late in the year, and then Plax shot himself in the leg.

On top of that, Eli barely won 5 of 8 games. 2 of those 2 wins went to overtime in which Eli was 100% a non factor on the game winning drive that he received credit and praise for doing. It always pisses me off when someone says the Giants won in 2011 because of the defense. We won because of Eli manning. Period. Without those comebacks on the regular season we would be there on the first place. The game against the Niners is Eli’s finest hour. Hit after hit, they kept coming after him and he kept standing up. No INT on bad conditions, with your OL getting destroyed the whole game and keeping a worst team alive. He had a fantastic playoff in 2007, but somehow he was able to top that in 2011. Ernie Accorsi scouting report on him in 2003/04: “Throws the ball, takes the hit, gets right back up… Has courage and poise. In my opinion, most of all, he has that quality you can't define. Call it magic…Peyton had much better talent around him at Tennessee. But I honestly give this guy a chance to be better than his brother. Eli doesn't get much help from the coaching staff. If he comes out early, we should move up to take him. These guys are rare, you know.” Indeed it was magic.

That win they had in GB wasn’t even that close. Should have been 44-13

Ther 2011 season my first season betting football. You forgot to mention in the NFC Championship game that the real reason why the Giants won was because of the 49ers muffed punt

The best part of this season was Eli outplaying perennially overrated choke artist, Tony Romo, twice for the Division title. Romo only produced when the team around him was loaded. In his PB and PO years ('06,'07, '09,'14) he had 33 Pro Bowlers and 9 All-Pros playing behind him. On the other hand, Eli carried this bad team to the POs and set multiple 4th Q records in the process. Dallas stans, I'll ignore all replies.

Jake Ballard was a beast, lost his career in the super bowl that year. people sht on Jerry Reese but the Giants lost soooooo many really good players to career ending injury's, gun shot wounds and fire works accidents. really need to judge his time with a bit of an asterisk.

Really? 15 TDs in the 4th quarter? That's great! What about the rest of the game. Oh, wait, in 75% of the game, quarters 1-3, he had 14 TDs total. What does that suggest?
