Call me crazy but I really like what the director was going for with Liu Kang as a character; The whole "What if Liu Kang started off as a bad guy, struggling with his wayward soul?". He was clearly intended to have a long running redemption arc; Slowly BECOMING earthrealms greatest champion, rather than just being the chosen one right out the gate.

This series has its fair share of problems but I love things about it. A bad Liu Kang that isn’t a jobbing pushover for one. This is also probably the nicest the writers will ever be to Kung Lao or Stryker story wise. I doubt they will shown any mercy ever again.

This was season 2 and it wasn't good but, season 1 was damn near a masterpiece. And its it's still way better than that piece of shit movie from last year, even though the actor unfortunately died, they still did Kano better in this. He gets his eye plate that allows him to use his laser beam. What do they do in that shitty movie? He gets too mad over a fucking meal. What a joke.

This series is just a different take on the characters, Like how would it actually work in the real world etc etc. I think if you're an MK fan you should give it a shot it's a short series anyway but it was a lot of work put into it and the director really tried to do a good job and actually put some thought into it. Vs the recent movie looks like just a cash grab.

I'm thinking it's done. The director/writer quit it and went on to take advantage of the recognition the series gave him. Pretty sad that he just used this as as means to get himself out there and didn't respect it enough to conclude it. But karma got him, I don't think he ever got to create anything big after this.

@@cyklonus1 what i remember reading about at the time of this seres was that he didn't get funding to finish the series. So he was stuck in limbo he actually liked doing it and wanted to keep going. This was years ago. Mk live action wise is cursed. They only have ONE good movie everything else is either with some director who knows nothing or cares about the series or when they get someone decent they don't back them up.

That film is absolutely garbage, and I understand everyone has an opinion but I don't see how anyone likes that absolute travesty of an excuse for a MK movie. The little things that were good don't make up for the 90% garbage that was. I literally re did their own movie and did it better than them, with WAY more faithful story to the source material but it's a soft reboot pitch for that movie because it can be done right, with great kasting and writing and fight scenes. More like Liu Kang talking to Kung Lao. The second season was ruined by all of the recasting & I didn't particularly like that they made Liu Kang turn against The Order, he was supposed to be the champion who led Earth Realm to victory instead they have him take out its fighters in order to usher in Earth Realm's destruction & all because of a girl. The writers went to the extreme to have some characters seem to be flawed & I just think it was way too overboard & doesn't make sense. This guy sacrificed the lives of billions all because he couldn't get over a girl dying.
