Newly Painted Alco Locomotive Leaves Delmarva For the Battenkill Railroad

On January 31st, 2020, we went out to catch the last run of the recently painted Southern New England Alco RS36 that was en-route to the Battenkill Railroad in Greenwhich, New York. This engine was recently owned by the Delaware Coast Line Railroad, and was formerly No. 2, which was painted into the paint scheme for the Norfolk, Franklin & Danville Railway (NFD). We went and chased and got photo in Harrington, North of Harrington, Felton, Dover at Jello Yard, and Clayton.

1:01 - Harrington, DE: The start of our video. A look from the back at the Alco RS36 Locomotive, Delmarva Central Railroad will pick up the locomotive and hook up other railroad cars, and proceed to Hopkins Cemetery Rd.
3:28 - Delmarva Central Railroad GP40's finishing picking up the Alcos.
11:20 - Hopkins Cemetery Rd, North of Harrington: Picking up more railcars to go to Norfolk Southern.
23:55 - Felton, DE: Quick video and run-by of the train passing through Felton.
24:52 - Dover @ Jello Yard: Engineer unhooking the locomotives from the main train. This was a photo shoot that was arranged by a photographer that photographs for the Delmarva Central Calendar.
25:30 - Close up shots of the Alco RS36. Painted into the Southern New England Railway.
33:34 - Clayton: Norfolk Southern SD60E's leading Long-Hood forward hooks up to the train that the Delmarva Central locomotives originally had.
36:32 - DCR getting their new train from Norfolk Southern

This looks like the D&H paint scheme. We're they similar originally ? Is Southern New England using the old D&H paint scheme ?

I have loved that paint scheme since I was ten years old. It drew me to research the railroads history. ALCO RS-2 & 3, RS-11, C628, PA1, etc. Wonderful history. Glad the Batten Kill got this locomotive.

The dcr units are both GP38-2's.

Thanks for clarifying that. For some reason I get very mixed up when it comes to the GP38-2's and SD40-2's, it's also tricks my mind to thinking they are SD40-2's because they look so similar.

@@DelmarvaRailProductions The two vs. three radiator fans is the most obvious difference. Then there's the sound of a supercharged engine vs. turbo.

I believe 5012 is a RS36 not 38

Kinda funny when the train buffies criticize the train crew's work but don't work for a railroad themselves nor could they ever do the work
