FROM THE CENTRO DISCORD:
The B9TL finally has proper sounds 🥳
After over a year since its release, the B9TLs finally have a sound set at the high standards you'd expect from Croydon
Originally, a previous developer was expected to create B9TL sounds before its release - however this was never completed and I had to bodge some from some samples I previously had, and they were terrible. The worst sounds in game are officially now replaced and I can
As with all our new sound sets, our new bespoke sound system provides even more flexibility and features - and we're trialing a new feature with this bus: hill start sounds. From my observations, B9TLs (and other future/current vehicles) rev much more on hills on flat roads, and our leading sound sets will now represent the behaviour of this. This sounds also feature the usual enhanced coomer features as well - such as kickdown and console control
It's not been an easy journey getting these sounds however - over this weekend i've been on multiple B9TLs across the weekend in an attempt to get sounds - most of which ruined by people screaming at their phones. At a last minute save, I managed to finally get all the sounds I needed after 3 days of disastrous recordings
Despite the resources needed for this, you get the upgraded sounds for free - this is live now. Hope you enjoy them, I'm pretty happy with how they came out, especially considering rapid grunty engine buses often being problematic for sound design. It should be noted that these were collected from a LX11 from the 157, so your local ones may differ slightly depending on age and condition.
After seeing this, I decided to record the N68 on the newly updated Volvo B9TL Gemini 2 from Thornton Heath to South Croydon. I quite like this little sound update and brings even more realism to the game. This high quality standard of sounds will hopefully come to more buses soon, enjoy!!
