Yea well but on your first example, if you draw the sawhorse projection, Br will be dashed and OH and CH3 will be planar and CH2CH3 will be wedged, and it will be R but the 4th group will NOT be into the page/dashed and hence it will be S!

That doesn't apply to a bit more complex Newman projections with two chiral centres. I tried it, didn't work. For that what I do is to convert Newman to Fischer projection and then determine the configuration. Is there any easier pathway than this? Btw I have an exam tomorrow and it'll be too late for me. But that may help anyone 😊

As I explain in the video, when #4 is forward you reverse the direction. 1 -> 2 -> 3 goes clockwise, reverse to give you counterclockwise for S
