I'm switching from TaylorMade to honma. I'm shocked more people haven't done videos on Honma considering everyone who actually plays them swears by them. Thanks for showing them some love truly amazing clubs

Great review. Got one in great condition with the upgrade shaft for 200 USD. wow not disappointed!

I love the review and its good to see a Canadian perspective on club reviews. I purchased a TW EX1 Honma driver and three wood because of my slow swing. I was not disappointed. This is the most forgiving driver and three wood I have ever used in my 47 years of golf. With a slow swing speed you cannot afford to be off the fairway and this is a fairway finder. My only wish would be is that it had interchangeable weights on the sole so I could experiment with less or more shaft head weight and shaft flex. I would love to try the TW 757 as it looks awesome. Great review and agree with Jonathan that review of Honma content is very limited.

got three tw737 heads since they were 99 bucks each and didn't care about the stock shafts that came with it, use whiteboard, Graphite Design, and Ventus... bomb them 300+ allll day. Great heads, solid, sounds, looks unreal from above is awesome. grabbed 3 because I hit one and was impressed and went back and grab 2 more cause I know they will be discontinue. never went back to titleist or tried another driver brand. they are being over looked due other companies marketing and the amount they payin pga pros to use their brand. Homna and Muiras are up there. I agree what he said in the video.

Currently using Honma TR20V irons that were fitted in Japan. Can't agree more about the Vizard shafts. They are on the same level as any custom shaft. I often get mocked for having carbon shafts but when they look closer, they are 110S and most likely heavier than my playing partners. Honma is really stepping up their game. Unfortunately, I didn't jive with the fairway woods or drivers.

Glad to see you finally did your research about Honma shafts and your take came around about Honma (and even pronounced their name better too this time around)... No, GS was not the prettiest, but GS prototype 1 & 2 are much more slick looking, (IIRC only released in Japan and much sexier than production release GS line), while TR20 was also good for its class at the time when it was released. I made the switch from Titleist (since 975D and on), Callaway (since Steelhead and Hawkeye), Mizuno, and Taylormade drivers (owned just about every TP model since 2002) and recently to Honma TR20 460 and 440 (Vizard TR20 70S and FP 6S shafts, respectively) and GS Prototype 1 (Vizard FZ 5S & 6S shafts), couldn't be happier with how true the shaft stays low-torque even on mis hits. P-SAT is real, spine at 6 matters, I'm sold, can't wait to get my hands on TW757 vs Mizuno 230 STX/Z side-by-side

Tried out last year's Honma based on your driver bracket challenge; now I want to give this one a go. BTW last year's bracket challenge was awesome, how that didn't get a million views I have no idea. Looking forward to the new driver releases this year....your reviews are top-notch.

just a heads up, if you don't mind buying second hand you can get this driver in near enough perfect condition for like £220 off eBay here in the uk. I imagine it can't be too different in North America

The reason Honma have a different sleeve is quite brilliant. The shaft never changes its orientation but the adaptor within the head does. Pured shafts and any grip now is perfect. More companies should follow suit
@NewNineGolf8 ай бұрын
I much prefer Callaway's adapter. Way more user friendly and the shaft never changes orientation either and more adjustability as well..

I enjoy watching your show. I have played them all. The best Drivers for me are Titleist, Taylor Made, and Ping. Irons are, Ping, Titleist, and Taylor Made. Putters Scotty Cameron, Ping, Titleist. I live in Asia and play with caddies here. Most of my friends here play the Gold Honma and Mizuno Drivers. To me the driver is key to a good round. My wife plays Honmas.

NA market is dominated by the same household brands and power houses for decades, Asian brands have no way to crack that market regardless how prestigious they are on their home turf. Nevertheless, EU market is much more receptive to Asian brands and many UK players actually recognize the Honma brand. That said, don't confuse marketing/endorsement deal with performance, remember Tiger used to get paid a ton of money to convince Buick is actually a legitimate car? ROFL!!!!!

You are missing the adaptor that comes with the tool AGAIN buddy🤣. It’s the easiest tool to use if you have the adaptor.

Why is it that when all the KZbin guys hit drivers on the sim they are all the sudden longer than 99 percent of the PGA tour
@NewNineGolf3 ай бұрын
PGA Tour average driver club head speed is 116mph. I can’t speak for all KZbinrs but at 6’2 200lbs, my club head speed is usually around 117-118mph and it’s been as high as 122-123.
@rickliners61232 жыл бұрын
At about 6:00, " this one easily keeps up with other drivers on the market", well that's not industry leading is it. For 1000$ it should be outpacing everyone else and bordering on illegal. Sounds like you're straining to justify the cost of this driver. Paid advert?
@NewNineGolf2 жыл бұрын
They don’t claim to be the longest driver on the market. You can buy any Taylormade, Ping, Titleist etc with an upgraded shaft for $1000 and more. In my opinion, the shaft is what makes it the price point it is. I wouldn’t consider it an $800 head. No bias here.

That was the worst set of smash factors we’ve ever seen from you. Either just an off day or something is not ideal with that driver.
@NewNineGolf2 жыл бұрын
I think the 450cc threw me off. I had a similar session when I hit the Callaway Triple Diamond. I was getting lots of toe strokes in the bay and on the course. I’d have to let the fitter play around with the settings to improve it.
