Congratulations on your Waterman Carene addition. Great pen and super review. I've had my Waterman Black Sea model for just over a year after waiting for a really good price for eighteen months. Absolutely no regrets. Most of my fountain pens and inks are black because I'm shade blind and colours tend to morph and shift from day to day. My wife would always send me back to the dressing room to try again when I unknowingly mismatched, so black is safer. Some days I awake to a Dazzling Technicolor Cartoon Pallet. Today is a good colour day for me so the Sea Green Shimmer looks really quite fetching. Looking forward to your next review.

Thank you for this review, you lucky lady. I have wanted this sea green finish since I first saw it in a Paridise Pen shop window back in the day when I could not afford it -2003, I believe. Yours is only one of a few I have seen since. Most of the time I ask pen folks in the know, they usually don’t know what I am talking about. Enjoy!

What a fantastic find, and had I seen it first this video wouldn't exist!! I do have a Marine Amber Carene that I love, but would still like to acquire the Sea Green Shimmer if I ever get lucky enough to find one. I have a number of Waterman's Vintage and newer. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but one that caught my attention was the Waterman Exception. The pen has a square body/cap with rounded over edges, but the grip section is the normal tapered round shape. I don't recall ever seeing another pen shaped quite like that.

So weird. I had an ebay alert for the same pen and bought one the week before this set came up! I was irritated because I paid more for mine than that set, PLUS I bought a new nib because I wanted a fine. Congratulations on your find! It's my favourite pen.

Hi Karyna! The Carene is a very nice pen. I have one. I should use it more. I’m in the market for another one in a different color. The one you acquired there is very nice. The camera does not do it any justice at all. I looked it up and the pictures I saw are nice, but I think it’s one of those that has to be seen in person. How was the SF Pen Show? I found the Green Shimmer ballpoint at Scriptus a few years ago, it is such a beautiful colour and mottled style. Congratulations on a fabulous find! 💚

This is my grail pen. But it has to be a fine nib. I would have put in Diamine Olive Swirl but without the shimmer. I like the brownish yellowish greens with this finish.

Ooh Olive Swirl is a good choice!
