AMAZING tutorial man, may i ask something? If i use an image texture on the object that melts, how do you make the texture to stick? It seems like when i use RF and image textures like roughness maps etc it doesnt stick right to the geometry. Thanks!
@NewPlastic
@NewPlastic 3 жыл бұрын
Yup that's a known issue with this kind of generated volume meshes. There's no UVs because the mesh is re-generated every frame. So the texture can't stick to anything since there's no UVs. There's no way to fix it that's known to me and I've been looking for it. So in this cases I just don't use texture maps.

very useful tut >> when I increase the res it does not the defined shape of the brain i reached up to 4000 but it does not look yours >> is the scale of the brain itself has an effect ?? any ideas how to solve the prob.
@NewPlastic
@NewPlastic 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So yeah in those cases the only way to solve it is to increase the resolution (I've seen people crank up the resolution to 20k, so its not unusual), or scale up the whole scene (try double or tripling the size). Another option is to use the sculpt tools and just slightly inflate the small areas, if possible. You're gonna obviously compromise resolution but you won't have to increase resolution that much and you'll still get that detail to some extent.

I have a very thin object and I've found that adding a volume tag to the object and changing the cell size to 1 really helps in defining the shape of a complex object !

Is there any other way you can texture. I do not have octane
@NewPlastic

Yeah absolutely, what render engine are you using?

@@NewPlastic hi, thanks for replying. I am using the default C4D render. New to C4D so can you suggest something doable for me ? Grateful. Thanks.
@NewPlastic
@NewPlastic 3 жыл бұрын
@@rebeka5307 Yes absolutely, the c4d default render is not far off Octane render. The biggest difference is the node system. In terms of lighting - you can have the same lighting setup. Just make sure you turn on "Shadows" in the lights, use Soft shadows for nice shadows, or even better, Area shadows. In terms of Textures, you can just create simple reflective/diffused textures. The parallel to the "Dirt" node I used here is "Ambient Occlusion" in the c4d shaders. You can use that to get access to the crevices of you model and color it in whatever color you want. Look into how to add Ambient Occlusion in a specific shader (not in the overall render), and look into how to use the lights. Also you can look into SSS in c4d, however SSS is pretty iffy in c4d's default renderer so I would skip that if you're having a hard time with it.

@@minahany7091 To increase the amount of particles you need to go to your Fluid object, and in the "Fluid" tab increase the "Resolution". The default is 2.
