Awesome vid. The 1990 stuff starts at 6 minutes, my era! All them goodies at Canton! Done an all-nighter on the footbridge in '94, staff were great! Cheers for sharing this, great memories thanks.

Were you at Newport the day 47702 went through on a rake of Sea lion ballast wagons with one slightly open with ballast flying in all directions, did an emergency stop with ballast still coming out of the wagon of course, then the p way had to attend with shovels to get it shifted, it was around this era

Quite a few of us were well known as enthusiasts, so there were no problems with access to the bridge

Never had any problems on that bridge as long as you behaved and didn't go down the steps depot side all was well

Goodness me Mike - thank goodness you had a camera to capture all this. I wish I'd had the opportunity / foresight to produce something along the lines of your film!

I still have 100s of hours on VHS I need to transfer. I started in 1983 with hiring a camera from Rediffusion for £50 for 3 days

Goodness me - that was a serious investment! But judging by the outcome - well worth it :)
