glad i found this video . We will b traveling here next year. My mom who will b 74 at that time, would 4 sure have trouble doing this walk. Glad u gave the pointer 2 start at Narragansett instead. She will b able 2 do the flat pavement walks just not stairs & rough terrain. Sooo so helpful. Thanks

This was a great video. Your narration was so pleasant and easy to listen to and wasn't annoying or irritable at all. You have a very nice speaking voice. None the less, this is making me want to go to Newport for a few days, I am only a few states over, should be doable. After watching "The Gilded Age", it makes it even more disirable to see. I think I'd have so much fun on the cliff walk for sure.

Nice job in spite of the mispronunciations of a few locations. I must be the only Rhode Islander to comment, made me chuckle.

Lovely! However, being a former, though not native, Rhode Islander, there are some notable mispronunciations: "Narragansett", "Aquidneck" and "Salve".
@scottsdaletravelchick2 жыл бұрын
😀. What, my hubby didn’t fool you for a native New Englander!? If you think these are bad, you should see his mispronunciations in our Mexico videos! 🤣

This video was really well done! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I tried it a few years ago, and I had to end early and take one of the exits--something the video didn't cover. There are certain exit points along the walk which take you back up to Bellevue Avenue. You can only leave the walk at these designated points, which are clearly marked by signs, which also tell you how far ahead the next exit is. Bring water and a protein bar or two. And, yes, when they say rough terrain they are not kidding. Even with good shoes, it is very slippery.

thanks for watching, I was thinking when we started the walk this will be such a nice little walk and then it got super tough, crazy to see women in flip flops doing the cliff walk. Good shoes are a necessity for sure!!! Thanks again for the nice comment we really appreciate it.

Not a single thing is pronounced correctly Salve Regina is Sal-Vey not the other word for balm Narragansett (Holy crap, do you call the beer the same thing?!?!?!? Wtf) Nare- A (like the letter) -Gan (like can) set Do a quick check before butchering our landmarks

Wow - get a life Nancy! It’s a pretty good guide despite the mispronunciations…
@seanleary2519 Жыл бұрын
@scottsdaletravelchick knowing how to pronounce where you want to go, is very important. It also shows respect to the place that you're visiting. I could cut you a break on something like Succanessett but, Narragansett is an international beer company. And Salve has a HUGE history that's worth getting its name right.

@@scottsdaletravelchick I kind of appreciated the Aquidneck/Narragansett mispronunciations. Makes me realize what I take for granted is perhaps more mysterious than I thought!

We are from Arizona 🌵 so I really don’t enjoy vacations that I’m wearing coats 🤣 we went in the summertime. I think March would be cold still, and as I recall dogs were allowed

Getting the trolly to the cliff walk is challenging. Your best bet, if you're in a car is to park at 1st beach (Eastons Beach (or if using the language in the vid, earsontoes)) if you're at a hotel, über
