Brad, how did you install the tubes for the steering lines through the kayak? This part confuses me. How do you finesse it through there to line up with your drill points? Best motor install video on KZbin btw!
@TheCatchPod10 күн бұрын
@@CastawayCj thanks. You have to drill your holes and then feed the tube in the holes by the foot pedals all the way to the back of the kayak. Then you can take off the accessory plate and feed the tube into the holes in the back by hand. Make sure to pinch the tube by the foot pedals so you don’t pull the tube through the hole. And then you can mushroom it by heating it up and pushing on it with the flat part of a flathead screwdriver.

@ ahhh, that makes way more sense. Thank you Brad!

Brad what do you use to secure your lift line to keep your motor up? I’ve seen people use line cinch devices and also cleats.
@TheCatchPod2 ай бұрын
@@petewitcosky1821 nothing. I actually took the lift line off. I never used it. I just push my pedals forward to lift the motor when I need to

@@TheCatchPod mine I put in Yak Attack Black Box 13x16, but it might have better weight distribution if I put the battery up front like you did with the quick disconnect. Love to see how you installed yours.

@@braaap690 a lot of people are doing the battery in the yak attack box now. Those new boxes are awesome. I helped a friend install an NK 300 in n his hobie with that box and it turned out nice.

@@TheCatchPod yup mine are in the 13x16 now, but putting them up front might be better for increasing speed. I will see how you did yours before I cut my front hatch up. Thanks!

Sorry for so many questions. 😂. What is the point for the steel cable when it seems everyone is running spectra? Is that just worthless for the install?
@TheCatchPod10 күн бұрын
@@clintjenkins13 the steel cable just has more friction to turn than specter cable.

Brad.. Did you put the nylon washer and rubber washer on the outside of the hull on the two rear bolts. I know fitting anything other than the bolt is tight.

@@clintjenkins13 not at all. It works great. Just spray the tracks with silicone spray every couple months and you’ll be good to go. Been using this setup for 2 years now.

@@johnguth5376 I’m not a kayaker so I don’t really care. I’m a fisherman and a small electric motor on my shoalie makes fishing the river easier.
