I've visited Newport Wales in summer of 2022 .I am a Japanese woman who has been living in the States for 36years. I walked there alone days & nights often & never felt unsafe .I loved Ridgeway area !! Cafe at the Ridgeway is a must visit place !! As well as St.julian's Inn pub during the daytime for the fantastic views !! I highly recommend both places !! People in Wales are so kind & everyone helped me whenever I had to ask for directions ! They even took me to my destinations with no hesitation at all !! I mean,literally they took me there each single time !! Who does that these days!? Maybe only Japanese & Welsh !!? Lol. Maybe Irish people do,too ? 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💕💞

@digeinwedd Thank you !! Thank you so much for your reply !! 🙏 I am a big city girl ! I'm originally from Tokyo ! But, I really loved the lay back mood of Newport, Wales & the environment !! The air was much,much clearer / cleaner ,even rain felt clean over there !! I mean it !! I really hated rain all of my life ,but Newport, Wales made me like walking in rain 🌧 Lol.I enjoyed all the aroma of the trees 🌳 & flowers there !! All the walks on hilly ,stoney roads were hard for me ( my feet !! 😫),but that made me a real fast walker !! Lol. All the beautiful views from the viewpoint near the cafe at the Ridgeway in Ridgeway & the gorgeous view of the river Usk at the St.julian's Inn. Malpas area was very nice to walk,too ! Coffee shops like Quater Coffee by the river Usk ,had a wonderful time there !! I visited Monmouth twice during my trip there & loved a very nice coffee shop there & enjoyed my cream tea there !! & shopping at Waitrose there & the bridge / river ,watched kids playing in the river ! I know Welsh people don't want Wales to be a very popular destination for tourists ! But,I really believe Wales deserves that & Wales is the most affordable/ the most beautiful country in U.K.& Ireland included !! Wales is, to me ,definitely one of the most gorgeous countries in the world !!! Italy ,Argentina & Wales are my No.1 pick !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💕💞
