How can you say the 9 bus bar panels are out performing the 5 bb panels. Correct me if I'm wrong, you have 600w 9bb and 400w 5bb, the 600w divided by the 96w the 9bb were producing at the same time the 400w 5bb were producing 64w. 64÷400=16%, 96÷600=16% They are exactly the same. 🤷

I'm not convinced you can say the 9bb output more. The 1-2% you see could be from manufacturing or age or whatever. You can see a bigger difference than 2% between two identical panels. The difference was size. Same wattage with fewer square feet, therefore being more efficient. On a vehicle where space is limited I can see an advantage. For home/off grid solar not so much. Also I seldom see the 9bbs the same price as 5bb.

That interesting data. The low light conditions even better .over months that will add up and best part same price. now if you add the extra power from 9 BB and multiply buy buy 1 year (365 days ) it really starts to add up. my panels are the real big ones in the 320 watts per panel . takes 2 people to mount . but on larger over 2Kw systems is less panels and less connections. In Boston NY my biggest solar month is June, The summer heat dropped the output somewhat. The next biggest solar days are when there is snow on ground in spring late winter and we get full sun. The panels are cool and the snow reflects the sunlight . days we call snow-blinded hear. need sunglasses to drive. I got that same 58V fuse on my 48V EZ-GO golf cart. came new that way. had to replace corroded on lead battery's 6 8V GC8 battery's. I just have higher amperage link . you can unbolt link and replace. I use Busman or Littlefuse fuses . The metal frame of my panels are grounded and bonded to 2020 UL electric code. If wire came in contact to metal wont be a shock hazard. also snow and rain can build a static charge that can damage the MPPT controller. I also have snap on ferrite cores on my wires for EMP and RFI protection as well a Midnight solar surge units. love that Bluetooth data . with a PC you can import that data to a spread sheet Etc. Victron is worth the money. 😀

Can you just simply take an equal amount of the 5 and 9 bars track them for a week and see which one produced the most at the end of the week? Everyone knows what happens as the clouds cover and the sun comes out in clear skies. I was hoping to learn which type was producing the most after 5-6 maybe 7 days..

I have four 100 watt 9 BB Renorgy panels and I also have four old Renorgy panels with the four busbars I’m wondering to save money could I wire in series the four new nine busbar panels and then wire in series the four old for busbar panels and then combine both of them in parallel so I would have a series series parallel set up and then tie them into my Victron smart charge controller it’s a 100/50??? would this work or would it not be a good idea???

why would you not compare 4 to 4 instead of 4 to 6? apples to apples and all...

Because math, specifically, division, makes it as "apples to apples" as it is possible to be.

Divide by 4 and 6, the 9bb output about 1.5-2% more than the 5bb. Though I am not convinced, that small percentage is telling. Two identical panels can show more of a difference.
