I think there's always been mutants in this universe but just in small numbers. I imagine the xmen (or maybe it will be named xforce or something this time around) and xavier's school has been around for decades but under the radar as simply a school for mutants. The xmen just went around collecting mutants and brought them back to the school to help and train. THEN all of the infinity war events happened, a bunch of radiation got released and now mutants are popping up everywhere and it's putting the xmen in the spotlight as they're becoming more active and maybe even being pressured to become more involved in world events.

If it was before where we are made to believe that the MCU is part of the comics and that it is earth 1999999 the fact that 616 Wanda affected the whole multiverse, they could had used the idea of there are barely any mutants because of that event but now that they are saying it isn't, it would be a hard sell to use that logic.

I feel that there may be some truth to the idea that the Super Soldier syrum given to him may have increased his agression and decreased his inhibition, making him not in his right of mind when he forced Sterns to give him Hulk blood and the combination made him the Abomination. I don't think he was lieing when he said he thought they were making him like Captain America, but the super soldier syrum he was given made him feel like a monster.

Exactly what I got from that scene. If there weren’t any side effects for that version of the serum it wouldn’t have been on ice and maybe one of those sides effects was a type of megalomania. And then they give him even more of it pushing him even further into that megalomania.

I think Emil was arguing that the super soldier serum made him more aggressive, thus leading to his forcing Sterns to turn him into Abomination. Basically if he wasn't lied to from Ross acting on behalf of the USA about the Hulk being his enemy, and he was never shot up with SSS, he would have never done what he did.

He was still in control of his actions; he forced Stern to put Bruce's blood in him which pushed him over the edge. He can argue General Ross coaxed him into doing the 2 shots of the incomplete super soldier serum,. but Ross didnt give him authority or orders to force Stern into injecting Bruce's blood into him.

I genuinely think he'll be a POW in Vietnam and still seeing atrocious acts. Maybe the agent orange is a key component in making mutants, maybe the Vietnamese soldiers abuse the civilians and even put them in camps. Idk but with the war crimes that went on there and the timeline it makes the most sense to me. Unless the mutants are trapped in the quantum realm because time moves differently there.

Big improvement. Definitely liked this better than the opener. Jen acting like more of a regular reasonable grown up person in this one probably helps. I didn't even catch that Wolverine Easter egg. The Emil/Jen/Bruce scenes, all those worlds coming together and what was said, that was all quite enjoyable. And the family scenes were all worthy. I didn't know the episode was this short though, that took me aback a bit. Overall looks like we're getting rolling with this series.

In Shang Chi, Ta Lo has normal Phoenix flying around as natural fauna and Morris is evidence that they can escape from Ta Lo into the “Normal” ‘verse. Perhaps the breaking of the gate results in mutants being born in the MCU?

I agree that it will be hard to have Magneto's origin start during WWII but I think they (maybe on purpose) made a big point of having Hydra be the main enemy in their WWII Era film, plus they've tied Hydra into so many storylines throughout the films. I feel like having his origin start in a Hydra-run post war concentration camp (similar to how Scarlet and Quicksilver began in Ultron) would be sufficient for any fan.

My take on best introduction for mutants to MCU 1. X gene mixed with infinity stone radiation --> activation of powers. 2. Allows for Wolverine to have been born in the late 1800s and been exposed to radiation activating his power. Pick your source of exposure. 3. Magneto is a character who was born to an oppressed class of people murdered by an over class. The best contemporary example is South Africa. Make Magneto a South African born around 1980 and it all works out. He was held in captivity due to sins of the father and exposed to radiation... This makes sense AND allows for an equity-based casting that works in 2022. 4. Prof X also has an exposure, maybe he's a Boer South African exposed in the same incident that creates Magneto... 5. The infinity gauntlet activations activate all the latent X-genes in Humanity creating the X-world as we know it.

17:01 Magneto's holocaust backstory feels like a large part of his character, but maybe it's not necessary in the MCU, especially since it would make him too old (18:57 I'm hoping the actor would be in his 40s at most). Wolverine could still hv a WW2 backstory (18:22 maybe w/ Steve Rogers) since he doesn't really age, but I don't see how they could give Magneto a WW2 history unless he: 1) was in cryosleep (like Cap America) 2) was given the super soldier serum (like in X-Men: Evolution 20:34) 3) ended up somewhere that time moves differently (like the Quantum Realm or Sakaar) 4) he comes over from another timeline/ universe (set earlier in time), etc, but they would need to do the same for Prof X if they're meant to be the same age.

I was just making the argument at work yesterday that the super soldier serum would be blamed for Blonsky's actions
