I don’t think it’s a wrong release date because of the timing. Legends arceus releases in January which is horrible since it’s after the gift giving season, I just think it means that we aren’t getting a new generation this year which I don’t think we were expecting either way. Hopefully it ends up good though!

I would add that if the battle system is the same as Legends Arceus, then there is no reason to give this game a November release date. All the new Pokemon will be unavailable for actual battle until someone after Gen 10 games release.

An early summer release date for Legends Z-A is what I was predicting. August is a bit of a surprise, I was thinking sometime in late May/early June. But it just feels so refreshing to actually have to wait for a Pokemon game. It's given me time to go back to the DS/3DS era of the games. It's giving time for Gamefreak to properly develop Pokemon games. Hopefully the wait is worth it.

Mainline doesn't necessarily equate to multuplayer apparently so I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. Legends seems to focus more on the action rpg single player experience, as seen with Legends Arceus It IS possible, though. After all we've only had 1 game in the Legends series so future Legends games are subject to adding multiplayer features. From a marketing standpoint, though, it doesn't make sense as far as I can tell. I'd say odds are stacked 85-15 with 85% being no multiplayer

Well what if they are planning a different major release for november or just the holiday season in general? I know that the release date for the new console is speculated to be between May and June, I think, but what if they are actually planning to launch it closer to the holidays? A new pokemon game for the previous system during the season may cause competetive sales for the holidays between the old and the new. If they released Legends with the new console but also had it available for the old console as well how many people are going to spend the potentially extra cost to replace their current system with a new one during the holidays. If they do a new console release during the holidays they would also have to deal with scalpers as well. So what I am thinking is that if the August release for Pokemon Legends is correct then we may see the Switch 2 released a few months later with special game bundles just in time for the holidays.

Or maybe, just maybe Pokémon company does not want to repeat the same mistake the last Legend Game had and release it alongside of the next generation game. I mean one sales could cancel out the other no matter and the market could overdo it with too much Pokémon games per year. So maybe having one game per year would benefit the brand/franchise a bit and not overwhelm us with too many releases at once. Plus a later release means more development time on it to perfect it well enough to sell and not be glitchy on day one. I mean even Pokémon company does not want a repeat of Scarlet and violet mess again, right ?

@@ikontact Black/White remakes won't even be developed by GF, most likely they'll be relegated to ILCA, so will be garbage like the Diamond/Pearl remakes were. Not looking forward to them at all, therefore. But yes, gen 10 should definitely be coming November 2025. Each new generation comes 3 years after the previous one, provided there are no remakes inbetween, so 2025 is the year for gen 10. There is a small chance they'll go for 2026 to make it a 30th anniversary thing, which I would hate, but my money's still on November 2025.

@@Tragic_Arrogance Man November 2025 would be a dream. I tried to play Scarlet & Violet but just couldn't get into them. So many bugs, didn't like the wild area, lack of direction, differing levels of Pokemon, etc. Sword and Shield was decent, but could've been better as well. For some reason Arceus worked even though it had similar mechanics to Sc/Vi but yeah.. I feel ya. Really hoping they learned from the fanbase as far as remakes go, but I guess we'll see.. As long as it's not that chibi style art lol. I'd imagine remakes for 30th anniversary yeah but I guess we'll see. Only about a month to go!

No. The cartridges for switch 2 will even have an extra bevel so they can't be accidentally inserted in Switch 1's. Conversely, though, Switch 1 games will be able to play on Switch 2. And they will be upscaled on performance and graphics

Wouldn't surprise me really. With the impending release of Grand Theft Auto 6. A WHOLE LOT of games are going to be hurting in sales. People have been waiting for that game for years. I can see them adjusting the date. It could be a mutual agreement between nintendo and Rockstar. Such as using different release windows so that each games sales are the least affected. I'm sure Rockstar has agreements with multiple developers in that aspect.

Also I’m pretty excited for switch two I’ve been holding out on buying an oled upgradeing from my og switch because I love my switch but the battery on the og doesn’t last as long as newer models so I’m hopping the battery life on switch two will be a significant upgrade from that. August 15th makes ZERO sense… especially with the Rumored Switch 2 Release Date of May 2nd 2025… That leaves 4 months before 2026 and would in turn mean a 14 month window between ZA and Gen 10 which would be ridiculous when you think about it. There’s NO CHANCE they are hoping that ZA is gonna give us 14 months worth of gameplay when they are IN FACT side series games and NOT mainline titles.

@timbahr1792 That might be exactly what they think. It’s a more powerful console so they likely want to provide more updates to the game and extend its shelf life. Game freak took an entire year off in terms of actually releasing games for pokemon, so it’s likely that they want to make games with more content and polish causing them not to need to drop a pokemon game every year. Remember back in the day there was a bit more time inbetween pokemon generations. While they have the ability to make games faster it also makes sense to make games better too, and yearly releases wasn’t allowing that to happen.
