My mom died in January from a glioblastoma and it paralyzed her left arm and leg for the last 3-4 months of her life. It was horrifying and excruciating to watch it happen. This must be a brand new treatment because there was literally nothing we could find and we scoured the internet for weeks looking for something. I wish this would have been available for her.

This is a really beautiful story with love and hope. Your news lady loves her husband and together they are fighting this. It seems to me that in the US there is a different approach tp fighting this cancer. In Canada, I lost my wife after 18 months. She was only offered the standard of care for GBM which is a recipe that oncologists follow. She fought gallantly until her last second before God took her under his care but I always felt that there was so much that could be done. Her oncologist would tell me that he was not doing research. In other words; he opened a book and did A, B, and C and she died. I still feel mad about that. To the ABC newscaster: love your husband and fight together for life; keep doing that. All the best

It is great to see GBM stories shared to help spread awareness. I was diagnosed after officially surgery on July 30, 2018, though I looked at my MRI images from July 20 at home right after I was there. I have my checkups at Siteman Cancer Center and go in every 3 months instead of 6 just to be sure nothing new happens and if something does, then we find it sooner rather than later. We have Head for the Cure coming up in June, I hope you have one nearby as well as then 5k raises money to donate to the cancer center closest to the event.

@@shadowsl5613 “Head for the Cure” are 5k walk/run events that take place to raise money to donate to research to work towards a cure. There is no cure at this time, just a future goal

My brother in law was diagnosed in December 2021 with the same tumor. Hee was told that he had one year or less to live. He died 2 months later, February 2022. I wish we could have taken him to NWH but it happened so fast. He was in a nursing home facility and was transferred to Lutheran General where we were told he had covid which apparently he got it in the nursing home.

No one has survived a Glioblastoma stage 4. They've been able to get some a little longer life but most die pretty quickly. I think it depends on where the tumor is. My husband died 27 years ago of this horrible cancer. He lived 2 months after diagnosis. I stay up on the progress of this cancer. There's no cure for this cancer yet.

@@ErK61hi, how’s your dad doing? My sister was just diagnosed with grade iv DMG, she had mild headaches that led to an mri and this was found on a f/u mri, headaches are now gone. We’ve met oncologists at NYU and MSK, not many treatment options. She’s due to begin radiation and chemo next week. Praying for a miracle for all those affected. My sister is 41y.
