Neil Gaiman wants to finish it in S3, because there are no more stories made with Pratchett, and because he doesn't want to be a showrunner again, but I keep saying that with a good new showrunner and a good new story (with Gaiman's consultancy), Good Omens could come back. Maybe not as a new season, but as movies or as a spin-off.

I think the praise for the ending is something two-fold 1) he would love to keep reprising the role, meaning he has some affection for the series 2) he was satisfied with the ending Someone who doesn't love the character/show wouldn't be the best at saying whether their satisfaction with an ending would mean anything to those invested. But someone who is very invested seeing a satisfactory ending rather than having things feel incredibly out of character or having the series drag on has their words have much more weight. And it feels like tennant is invested in the character and show and wants what's best for it from what i've seen.

Given how strongly Neil seems to love Crowley and Aziraphale's love and relationship I strongly doubt that he would toss it all aside just to subvert audience expectations, not after how much he fights for their representation. Additionally, the phrase, "leading to something" along with David being satisfied tells me that it probably is a good ending for the two of them as I have a hard time seeing David be excited or specifically 'satisfied' with a sad ending to a show that he so dearly loves. I hold out hope that Crowley and Aziraphale get their South Downs retirement.

I remember seeing a Tumblr post before GO was renewed for season 3 where a fan said something like “if Aziraphale and Crowley don’t get their happy ending I’m going to die” and Neil replied “me too” so I’m operating under the assumption that he won’t let us down on that
@bed-bugg

@@sammartin1972 Yeah, imo I feel like a lot of people are saying things like, "you never know" "it doesn't mean a good thing for sure" and all just because they don't want to get their hopes up and I used to be like that too. But after following Neil's Tumblr and seeing his own dedication and love for the characters, as well as seeing the bond between David and Michael work so well I just can't imagine they end Good Omens on a sad note lol.

@@Sendarya yes it was quite expensive because the event was rather small capacity wise but totally worth it and the atmosphere was so wholesome and respectful since it wasn't as many people as comic con for example and everyone was there for the same two fandoms so everyone could share in their love if that makes sense I also spent less money than most people since I didn't have to pay for transport there like most people because I live very close to where the event was, I mean 'fifteen-minute car drive' level close. That was also the main reason I HAD to go no matter the price cause it would have been the biggest missed opportunity ever if I didn't go. Nothing exciting on that level ever happens here, it pretty much feels like the middle of nowhere tbh, so let me tell you the absolute shock and disbelief I felt when I read that david was coming HERE of all places... so weird

Definitely one of the best days of my life if not the best! The love for the shows, the fans and everything surrounding it was on another level. And I agree, it’s so weird seeing it on social media and in fandom. It’s weird enough to hear myself talk to David at the panel in the video someone made or see myself in the TV special on the con (even if just for like two seconds). Neil says he wants to come back to this universe but David says it's the last one...the worried part of me thinks "Crowley and/or Aziraphale must die", but the soothing part says "South Downs cottage. South Downs cottage. They said Crowley and Aziraphale retire to a South Downs cottage." BTW, can't we have Crowley and Aziraphale lured from retirement, preferably regularly, to stop some other biblical or human catastrophes? Honestly, I'd be happy to watch these two bicker in the garden, mess with villagers and love each other for hours and hours, while mentoring Muriel and Eric, no danger necessary. Maybe that's just me.

I did watch the panel with David online. I find it fun watching him in panels because he really seems to love the fans and thrive on the energy from the audience. Interesting though that in some social media circles following the meet and greet, I saw people talking as though David's comments "confirmed" we were getting a happy ending lol. I daresay some people jumped the gun a bit. In true DT fashion, he pretty expertly avoided giving anything substantial away whatsoever. Him saying he personally was satisfied with the final scene doesn't mean anything. Looking forward to hearing if Michael Sheen has anything to say about the scripts once he finishes with his show though. I'm sure he will be equally evasive, but I'll take whatever I can get XD

A story definitely does not need to be happy to be a satisfying conclusion. While I do think it's likely there will be a happy ending I wouldn't be upset with a sad ending as long as it's well written
@supremeoverlorde2109
@supremeoverlorde2109 8 ай бұрын
@@SnowLily06 Yeah, I really think it depends. I have a hard time imagining what a sad ending would look like for Good Omens. The ending of season 2 was undoubtedly sad, but I came away from it knowing it wasn't intended to be the "end" end. It was the big fight/break up before the final act. Despite some of the show's heavier-hitting themes, it largely doesn't take itself too seriously and I'd be surprised if Neil threw us a tragic finale. I could see something a bit bittersweet perhaps, but anything TOO bleak, I think, could easily end up feeling like a betrayal of the series's tone and how far our heroes have come.

I'm not really surprised that the third season will be the final one; it would be nice to go on but in a way I guess it makes sense. Given how some shows have been/ended recently, maybe it's best they don't try to stretch out such a high-quality show forever, and give it a proper, thoughtful ending. I really, really hope the end is not utterly soul-crushing. And I think we can trust DT's words, I don't think he'd completely sugar-coat his opinion.

@lulu480
@lulu480 8 ай бұрын
First, please don’t take my comments as a dismissal of your opinion. We all have our reasons for seeing things as we do. But this is a commonly held opinion that I vehemently disagree with. Crowley blinded sided him with his confession. Aziraphale is still an Angel who hasn’t realized how much he’s been betrayed by heaven. Crowley sees the good and bad of life (he is a fallen Angel, after all). Aziraphale is still to some degree an innocent. So it is easy for us the empathize with Crowley. The Metatron knew exactly how to separate them. But Aziraphale’s reaction when he realizes Crowley won’t consider going to heaven is so apparent. He is crying and in a near panic. You can see his realization, when the Metatron returns , that if he were to change his mind and stay, he would endanger Crowley’s life. Michael is a master of showing every emotion, subtle as well as obvious, in his face and his suffering is very real. When he is on his way to heaven you can see the Metatron’s look of pure satisfaction. And the subtle changes that pass across Aziraphale’s face tell the story of his horror over what he’s done. A period passes where you see he is plotting something and finally as a smile crosses his face that he has thought of a plan. Michael Sheen is probably one of the very best at telling an entire story with his face. Anyway, just my opinion.

Hello, I love your channel and I’m slowly getting through all your videos, but I am impatient and I would like to have an answer now: does anybody is talking about this „weird spinning thingy” (idk how it’s called XD) which was the one thing that left after Bentley has burned at the end of the season 1 (and then Crowley used it to get back to reality with Adam and Aziraphale)? Because Crowley used the same thing as a key to power up the scroll and then he created nebula in ep1 season 2. Also, there is a lot of taking about whales in season 1 (Crowley talk about them, Anathema, then Adam talks about saving whales) and in season 2 God talks to Hiob about whales and how she loves them XD Idk is there some theory about it and I just don’t found it yet? 😂

David has really really harmed if not ended his popularity with his contribution to the ruination of Dr.Who…. He will be haunted by his actions and for saying yes to returning to assist with the handoff to Scuti… Tennant really screwed up badly!!!

Huh. If what you say is true, it's really odd that he has, SINCE the airing of that Doctor Who Special, been invited to host the BAFTAS, won multiple awards himself, both fan voted and from inside the industry, played Macbeth to a sold out crowd with a show so popular they had to schedule a second run that sold out within HOURS, is currently in 5, count them, 5 in the works productions that include 4 TV shows and a movie, and continues to have a very booked schedule at meet and greets and conventions, where tickets are continually sold out mere hours or days after going on sale. It's almost as if the attempts to CANCEL David by the overly sensitive anti-woke right have utterly failed. Pretty sure David's career and popularity will be fine without you. If I may gently suggest, perhaps the news bubble you are cocooned in does not actually reflect reality. Perhaps you could focus your attention on things you enjoy, instead of things you hate? It might bring more joy into your life. Oh, and it's Ncuti. You couldn't even be bothered to spell the actor's name correctly. Tattling on yourself a bit there!
