What I still don't grasp is, even when Neil got booted from the production, because of allegations that ruined his career and nothing else law related came of it later, why are they hacking up season 3?! Even without him they could have kept the 6 episodes! I really don't understand that! 😮😢

God was absent (in present time) this season - was Maggie possessed (for lack of a better word) by god. I think the 90 minute increases the chances of repeat characters rather than new characters.

I haven't seen A Matter of Life and Death (yet), but know the plot. My expectation (hope?) for the Season 3 plot has always involved Crowley sacrificing himself for Aziraphale, which results in Crowley and Aziraphale being able to be together. Is that too easy, too mundane, too expected, too Harry Potter? I just hope that our heroes have a happy ending but get there in an unexpected, twisty way.

Love all these! I think it would be really interesting if it turned out there was more behind the Metatron’s actions than simply being ‘the big bad,’ like maybe he ultimately intends to do what he thinks is right but he’s just misguided in his approach. If he turns out to be just a nasty thought I’ll still enjoy it 😂 I also totally agree, love will win!! 🖤🤍 (I also HAVE to watch a Matter of Life and Death, apparently there are so many parallels with A & C!)

maggie is just maggie to me! she's clearly autistic (as her actress has confirmed) & works as a parallel to aziraphale. (or if you dive deeper, possibly crowley..which is ANOTHER analysis/theory LOL) her misspelling of urgency can be explained by this theory: aziraphale has no modern technology, maggie does. when aziraphale enters, maggie puts away a phone (smart flip phone iirc) like she's just sent a text. a text to aziraphale, which azi couldn't receive, and with all miracle things & general sillyness concerned its possible that he received the text as a letter through the mail (we also dont see anyone deliver the note). misspelling in a text while crying is a lot more plausible 🤣(and relatable!)

I always thought that Maggie's misspelling of "urgency" as "ugrency" simply indicated that she is possibly dyslexic, maybe undiagnosed. (I had a friend who was diagnosed late as dyslexic and she misspelled words all the time although she was very intelligent.)

If Maggie's Grandmother knew Aziraphale, maybe it was Maggie all along? But then she probably wouldn't have been broke.. I think we will see Maggie and Nina together as there will be a time jump. At least I hope so, but agree it's unlikely any of them will be major characters.

I like the idea of Maggie being Mary. But I also think they will use the established relationships with Maggie and Nina to advance the Us versus Them battle.

I just thought of something, what if the metatron was separating aziraphale and crowley, not so heaven could start the second coming, but to stop it? It occurred to me that their predicament in the series is exactly what we are faced with here irl. Had the series been canceled, they would have had ETERNITY, apart. But now that the series is going again they have a chance to get back together, but only for a short time because it will be the end. What if the metatron doesn't want the second coming to happen because he thinks it's a bad idea??

I do think there's more to the "The Red Shoes" reference than a mere Powell and Pressburger Easter egg. While watching it, I kept pointing out parallels between it and Good Omens, so much so that when it got to the climax, I told my partner, "Well, I hope THAT'S not paralleled in Season 3!" I'd love to hear if other people noticed the same things. (Or if it was just the Good Omens brainrot at the time 😂)

Ooo, it would be interesting if the Metatron is actually playing a role God layed out for him. Not in his own mind sort of ordeal, but God basically laying it out, being like "I need you to play the bad guy, because these two won't do what I need them to do unless they are pressured this way, etc" Just like the last apocalypse, it's not actually in Aziraphale's and Crowley's control, but God laying out the framework for the dominos to fall into place, so to speak. Or, it could be the Metatron doing what he thinks is best, and he's actually just villanous in how he goes about it (typical villain behavior, they usually don't believe what they are doing is wrong, but some of them do know it's wrong and do it anyways yadda yadda) HOWEVER, I think God is either too clever to let him do that, or She's clever enough to let him act this way and she knows the outcome of his actions. I feel this similarly for 'the fall' in general. God could have stopped it, God knew what was going to happen, but let it happen anyways because it had to happen that way for the ball to get rolling or for future choices to go the way She needed them to go. It's all very mysterious, and I'm actually excited for some answers in the finale.

How about this: Arizaphele finds out that God gone missing is because she has fallen in love and secretly lives with Satan - both of them want the apocalypse out of the way so they don't have to pretend being on opposite sides anymore. Arizaphele contacts Crowley and they hatch a plan that prevents apocalypse ever happening - neither Hell nor Heaven are permanent but finally their souls are sent back to earth fro a second chance (redemption). The really accomplished souls are eventually sent to inhabit a new planet and the souls without redemption are sent to another one. Then it's up to them to mould the planet into Heaven or Hell. Or the humans can choose themselves where they go. I forgot to mention our heroes. With the threat of Apocalypse on an infinite backburner Arizaphale and Crowley can "disappear in the crowd and carry on living among and observing humanity unnoticed as they had done, occasionally using just a little bit of magic to keep things interesting. Agnes Nut's descendant discovers she also has some supernatural powers, perhaps clearvoyancy and controlling minor demons.😊

In my mind, Arizaphale and Crowley are immigrants sent by their bosses down to earth. Their thousands of years of shared human history, having to hide their true identity behind a mask of looking and behaving like humans is mentally stressful even if you generally enjoy the experience and find it interesting: it is such a mental relief to chat with someone who "speaks the same language" and can relate to your experience. It doesn't matter that your personalities don't match... So the pair, once amiacbly on the same side, is drawn to each other by their So they are drawn to each other by their circumstance and lack of choice. Were there other angels and demons with better matching personalities their frienship might never have developed. But Arizaphel and Crowley didn't have a choice - but I guess sharing 6000 years or so is enough for even angles to become friends despite their very different interests. Now, if the became fully human, having to earn money rather than just pretend, they would have a choice of a few of them would lead a very different lifestyle, with millions of other, like minded people and friendships they could allow to develop into deeper level... There would be a danger of the two drifting apart, first letters and then postcards becoming less and less frequent. I could see Arizaphel getting married and having kids, while Crowley, frustrated with humanity would stay single, maybe take a job as an agent for a rock band or a security guard, a nightglub owner..

The answer is 'probably maybe yesn't'. One of the key themes in the original book is that NOBODY knows what Big G actually wants done, because He is Ineffable. And Big G between His Omniscience and Omnipotence is a machiavellian planner of such a complexity that the book describes being around Him as playing a very complicated game of cards with no clue how the game works, all the cards completely blank, and a Dealer who never talks and _smiles all the time._ Indeed the book implies that Armageddon is and always WAS meant to only ever ALMOST happen and that is, in fact, the way Big G always set it up from the beginning, knew it would turn out, and intended... and potentially happened MANY TIMES exactly the same.way but leaving no trace of its occurrence every time because of how it happens. Metatron is the Herald and Voice of Big G, and while he may actually be bad, or acting on his own, or acting on orders he is in on, in all cases he is playing a role in Big G's ineffable chain of causal dominoes, just like everyone else in Heaven, Hell, and on Earth.

There's something bugging me, I might be wrong, but does Aziraphales wings are darker in Eden's garden? I think they look a bit like Crowley's wings in the beginning.

I really hope Jon Hamm is in the finale! He was one of the best parts of s2. Plus Gabriel and Beelzebub are adorable together. I'd love it if his character had a true redemption arc, as in apologize to and thank Aziraphale. But not really holding my breath.
