🚨NEWS: Chicago Bears Make 3 Roster Moves!

Today’s Chicago Bears news focuses on 3 roster moves made by GM Ryan Poles. Chicago has signed TE Stephen Carlson to the active Bears 53-man roster after placing RB Travis Homer on IR last week. Carlson joins the Bears’ TE room of Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett and Marcedes Lewis + could help as a FB with Khari Blasingame out. The Bears also signed 2 players to the practice squad: TE Teagan Quitoriano and CB Ameer Speed. Quitoriano flashed some big-play upside with the Texans in 2022-23, but dealt with numerous injuries, while Speed played a lot on special teams last year with the Patriots and has physical upside at 6’3”, 210 lbs. When I saw the headline of this video, I had hoped you were going to report that the Bears cut the entire offensive line and brought in large logs to put in front of Caleb for this week's game. The upside is while logs won't block any better or worse than what they have today, they at least won't commit false start penalties.

If they are trying out another QB then my prediction during the off-season may be coming true. Tyson Bagent is one of the best backup qb's in the league and has good value for potentially getting traded for a decent lineman or center. He could start on some teams and I stated this during the off-season. He wants his shot as a starting qb in the league and he deserves it. Maybe there is something brewing behind the scenes to deal him for a quality lineman.

Look guys. Each team the Bears have played has stacked the box on run downs with 7-9 players. You try to block 5-6 on 7-9. It doesn’t work. NFL teams are doing this because they know Caleb is a rookie and will have a hard time adjusting to this type of “stack the box” scheme. However, we all saw last game Caleb was able to adjust to the run downs where they stacked the box and make big plays. Bears will get the run game going now that Caleb has shown he can make passing plays consistently down field.

Let's see... how about trading Tyson Bagent and our #1 pick to the Giants, for their #2 and #5 and John Michael-Schmidt? More than anything else, the Bears have to clean up the center position. Tyson is better than any QB on their roster, and I think better than any prospect in the draft. Leaving the Bears with 3 2nd Rd picks, 2 of which could be top 40 selections.

Poles and the Bears acted out of desperation this off season. The smart thing would have been to let Rypien play a few weeks, look at the O line, fix the O line, work with Waldren to fix his mistakes, THEN you put Williams in there. I'm not even a general manager, I'm just a fan, and I can see how Poles screwed this whole thing up.
