Thank you for this. Since the CTA is building a brand new Wilson Station, this brings back memories. I remember being in High School and used the Red Line.

So sad to say but I remember this... I would ride the Red Line through Wilson just about every day.. I loved that old Depot.. Kudos to CTA for getting the line up and running as quick as they did.

This was my first 5-11 fire that I went on. Radiant heat from the fire was felt blocks away.

I'm a little puzzled as to how the Skokie Swift would've been affected as the Channel 5 report said, since those trains terminate at Howard.

Of course I have the VHS recording. There was no affect to the Yellow service although the Yellow was listed on at least two maps along with the Red and Purple. This was just the news trying to cover the fact that all "L" riders had to get off the trains between Wilson and Addison. Yellow riders too. Yellow riders on the Red or Yellow riders on the Purple.

The Lower buildings was made of brick, but the upper Train Depot was all 100 percent wood and steel.
