Thanks for the comment - I think its interesting that what was once hundreds of thousands to buy commercial transmitters - now cellular bonding makes it cheap - the future is interesting and I think sometimes what Hams come up with advances like these things too

Great video, used to be able to listen to master control from the networks on UHF getting connections to the OB vans for news. They would be pointing the microwave towards Melbourne or Mt Dandenong etc not sure they still do that now or even use radio.

Thank you Grant. Microwaves are still used, especially for live Outside Broadcasts. In fact you can actually configure an LNB to receive the pictures with a downconverter signal to a DVBT home tv box. maybe for another video... They use the cell bonded for feeding pictures and live crosses. Sometimes it doesn't work when too many other people are trying to make calls like in a bushfire or other emergency as the cell towers get clogged. Hence why its good to have multiple carriers like Optus/Voda/Telstra so chances of getting a signal out is greater.
