How do I adjust the output power (watts) on the ft8 on the yaesu ft-710??

Another best method: use a far-away WebSDR and drive the audio down, while playing a two-tone, until there's no clipping or harmonics.

Hamshack hotline will block/ban the users IP address that has BLF enabled
@mrwizworks3 ай бұрын
@Ham-radio-3.0 Not anymore. That was a break fix measure, and walking away from BLF was a very hard (but right) decision. BLF presents a lot of drag on the server CPU (with over 10,000+ connected endpoints and counting) and we had to do this to improve stability and reliability, both of which are mission #1. Today, we simply drop BLF subscribe packets at the cloud firewall.

Great explanation. This is what I have known and have tried to pass on for some time now. This is the first time I have seen it graphically and explained simply. Thank you.

in my experience updates include previous versions, you won’t be allowed to upgrade out of sequence. The Canon 5D firmware instructions say you have to have 1.2.3 before you load 1.2.4.

Hi. Thank you for the video. What do I do to reduce the audio. Is that the setting in WSJT where it has the power slider or a knob on the 7300. (I have the same radio) and I have only been able to reduce ALC by reducing power level in WSJT to point I have no output. Thank you. 73 WA5MS

I’m considering getting one, can you please tell me how effective is the GPS function in obtaining repeaters? I was concerned that it might only be a US only function.
@quilnux5 ай бұрын
It supports all locations where repeaters are available. In my area it is missing 2 repeaters but other then that, it has the rest of them. I didn't realize how many countries had amateur radio until I looked at the list. So many!!!

Painting would t have helped. He used the 5 meter rule which is a local government rule that the antenna must be more than 5m from the property fence. Lucky I have moved now and don’t have to deal with this guy. He also dobbed us in to the council for having a weed growing

There’s one problem with your instructions and that is how to select your wires by color on the Ethernet cable. This is so because all E-cables are not wired the same, they can be wired under specifications 568A or 568B where the color code of how the connector is wired changes, the difference being that pairs 2-3 are reversed on 568B. On the 568A pin 1 is Stripped GREEN and on 568B pin 1 is Stripped RED. media.fs.com/images/community/upload/kindEditor/202103/20/t568a-and-t568b-1616212515-bU1U1LAWvs.jpg

Applying this information made a HUGE difference in my FT8 signal. Stations that could never hear my signal before were easy to QSO once I got these audio settings optimized. And on 25% of the RF power. This clearly demonstrates how on SSB, modulation is EVERYTHING. KQ4NMY

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve had some negative comments about this. It’s worth trying to see if there is a difference. Overdriving a signal never works.

Good morning bud, just a quick question. I'm about to buy a UNIDEN BCD396XT. I live in Nelbourne. Is there still alot to receive on this scanner? Ambos, Ham, Marine, etc?
@Aussie_Ham_Radio9 ай бұрын
I haven’t lived in melbourne for a while so not sure if they use phase 2. The rmr and metro system you once could pick up fire and surf but I think fire is now encrypted. I could be wrong. Services like marine ham cb are not encrypted and as long as you pick an analog signal you should hear them on that scanner. Also air band is good for those scanners. The more modern sdr type can be a bit deaf on some services.

Is it possible to have too much coax coiled up to act as an ugly balon? I have about 25 feet of Messi and Paploni UltraFlex 7 coiled up just below the antenna on my 10 meter dipole. KQ4OFQ, 73s.
@Aussie_Ham_Radio9 ай бұрын
Yes, the diameter of the pipe, and the amount of turns all a factor in choking the current. The ugly choke I have works for me on most bands.

@Aussie_Ham_Radio Жыл бұрын
It's tricky using some aviation headsets. They usually require a small voltage to excite the electret microphone. There are also some powered adapters to suit certain connections. The icom and maybe others provide voltage but others you can use a dynamic mic
