I remember suggesting a high-visibility block outline on the Minecraft Suggestions subreddit years ago (which at the time I didn't realize didn't really get looked at) and I got so much pushback for it. I feel quite vindicated that we have it now, since I've really wanted it for a long long time.

Some suggestions for minecart changes: a forgotten feature about minecarts is that they can connect to each other in trains, if this was reworked to be easier and more stable this would be so much more useful! Perhaps you must right click a minecart with a chain and a little chain will pop put the back indicating it is ready to connect, then when it meets another cart it connects. Furnace minecarts should be reworked to be allowed to load up with coal in a ui rather than forcing users to do it one at a time and maybe they should go faster than a regular powered rail making it worth a players time to make a steam train!

Minecart update is a huge W in my book, Ive always loved minecarts and I used to build tracks for them all the time as a kid. I hope these minecart changes get implemented and I hope we get some sort of rail that can boost the max speed without the use of commands.

They could set the default max speed higher (don't think they will). Otherwise I like that it's a game rule. You have to convince the server owner to change it though. Easy if that's you, possibly tricky for large servers

literally peak update aside from not being able to stack minecarts :( i hope the movement mechanics for minecarts and the redstone performance improvements get added, but there are also some other things in that redstone experiment that could break pretty much half of all redstone contraptions

tridents were already available thanks to trial chambers, but this change should make it a lot easier. also yea the one trial chamber intersection chest was fixed so amethyst should be properly obtainable in superflat without version shenanigans

10:51 The guy that did both translations and proofreading for new norwegian language is definitely trolling, which is so darn funny. It's in the game as "landsmål", which is the second official written language in norway, but the translations are nothing like actual landsmål. The dude just translated the phrases with the most niche exaggerated dialect he knew

Landsmål is more commonly associated with older versions of Nynorsk though, particularly from before the attempted merge with Bokmål. That is, in essence, what Høgnorsk / High Norwegian is.

If you want "standard" nynorsk, it's in the game already as "Norsk - Noreg". The language in the game as "Norskt landsmål - Norig" is høgnorsk, which is nynorsk without all of the spelling reforms of the 20th century that brought it closer to Bokmål. There is a non-insignificant group of people who reject the current state of nynorsk. That's who the høgnorsk translation is for.

Hmm no mention of undyeing bundles using cauldrons similar to leather armour and shulker boxes. Suspecting that'll be added in future.

I appreciate the efficiency improvements! They don't seem like features directly, but enable so many players to experience the game at higher quality. That's fantastic! Efficiency improvements are a long road, but I think it's worth the effort.

can we celebrate this update for what it is first? making so many mods obsolete* is kinda mind blowing development compared to "back then" //e: * not saying mojang is perfect, but it's a good step forward for the general minecraft population to not rely on mods (especially regarding performance)

Remember the now reverted piston sound. it would be really cool if you could wax pistons and they would get that sound as they are waxed. (the item name "waxed sticky piston" is funny too xD )

Hard to say what I'm most excited for in this update: the new bundle features (I've been cheating them into my world for years with a datapack), the ender pearl chunk loading, or finally being able to see how many bees I've got without using a mod. Hype!

0:43 why was it changed that items are put into the bundle by left clicking now? Right clicking was completely fine. I don't see any advantage of changing this.

It’d be cool if there was some way to make the Creaking stay around in the daytime. Also, maybe make some sort of interaction with the creaking heart and sculk sensors. Maybe have the sensor pick up on when the creaking takes damage, locks onto a player, etc. The possibilities for wireless redstone are HUGE!! Also, since the sculk sensor is rather bloated, maybe make it so you can swap out the crystal on top to pick up on different sounds, “train” the sensor to only pick up on certain sounds based on which ones it hears while powered, etc

@@slicedlime I am a bit curious/incase this is something that CAN be discussed publicly... Has there been any plans for an update to Enchanting/Anvils in particular? I *do* feel like this would probably be the "Best" Update to the game personally. I'm definitely no expert, but at least how i'd go about it for example, keeping it as close to as-is while adjusting it: Remove the Anvil's "Work" Mechanic. Instead of having an exponentially scaling cost and a "Too Expensive" Limit, Enchantments have a set Cost to them, scaling with level and the Enchant itself, becoming more expensive than the level 30 limit at the high end if you were to, say, drop a full Sharp 5 or Prot 4 at once on something (and/or a full batch of Max Enchants?), but also within a reasonable range that you could drop Prot I or Unbreaking II on armor. In a sense, this would utterly destroy the feeling that you're "Forced" to save up enchants until you have Diamond/Netherite, and the entire Collection (meaning you'd be forced into Villager Trading, and/or XP Farming Hell). More importantly, this would make one of the major Mechanics of Anvils NOT a trap that would screw you, even making Phantoms a desirable mob :V You could repair items again, *while* keeping the Enchantments, without needing Mending. Netherite? As long as you have Ingots. Elytra? Phantom Membranes. This would Indirectly Nerf Mending as well, reducing it from a "must-have Overpowered Enchantment" to a "Huge QoL" without ever changing the Enchant itself (aside from the XP cost to apply, as mentioned before) Also tangentially related: The option to apply Frost Walker to Horse Armor. Generally negating the biggest downside that Horses have as a means of Transport, allowing you to cross rivers/oceans with them with ease (if not as fast as a Boat would be, or with as much storage). Overall, feel like this would DRASTICALLY improve what's arguably the single worst (and longest lasting worst by far) mechanic in the game... I have no clue if you're the sort who could even toss this idea along for thought/feedback, assuming it's even an idea that hasnt ALREADY been discussed before :V Also oops Wall of Text

In addition to the minecart changes, a variant of the powered rail made with copper could be added to allow for variable speeds below gold, possibly with the oxidation levels reducing the speed as the oxidation increases. The top speed of fully oxidized rails could be equal to the current rails while less oxidation could increase that proportionally up to 4 times with gold at 5.

I feel like minecart improvements breaking old contraptions could be remedied by adding a minecart crafted with heavy cores or (to make it less expensive) something that "weighs it down" leading to old minecart functionality Could run a script on update that replaces all old minecarts with these 'heavy' carts, that way no contraptions are broken but we can still have the viable and fun transport ones not bothered to put this on the feedback site because its a pain to use

I would love to see pillagers with cross bows attack a Creaking even if it does no damage. Could be a feature depth addition.

Bundles don't work the same as they did in the preview on console. You could chose what item to pick out before, by holding "square" then you could use the left and right buttons to chose what specific item you wanted. If you only tapped "square" it would pull out the item type you'd put in the bundle last. Now the hold "square" function doesn't work, I hope this is a bug they intend to fix, not a chosen change. I prefer the change they've done to when you press "L2" to throw all the contents out of the bundle, it only does it one item type at a time now.

Thanks for the update videos! I appreciate you sir! I hope a way to make the Creaking persistent in survival is added before the winter drop. I would love to use them in minigames on my server, but unfortunately the way it is now makes them very limited outside of normal gameplay.

So a question: is it possible to have shared pathfinding data for all mobs (based on their movement types) such that you could add new mobs easily by just configuring the numbers of existing movement types or weapon types - That way you could add a new mob that tracks the player but carries a hoe or something like that, another one that orbits the player, one that flees on being looked at rather than attacks etc. the shared data makes it so the pathing calculations scale better with more mobs near a player, though may scale worse with more players in a group, but the latter is in theory less common during normal gameplay.

so what is the purpose of bundles if you can only stack 1 stack of a certain item? is it perhaps to stack multiple quantities of various blocks up to 1 stack?

and wnen is there going to be an render update( to everybodey that doesent know: minecraft alwways renders blocks on the maximum resolution, no matter how faar away they are witch can cause a lot of lagg. a lot of sandbox games use a tecnique were objects that are faar away get a worse resolution. If mojang would use that tecnique you could have 64 chunks of renderdistance with an apple computer. if you want to find out what i mean, download a zoom mod and watch how blocks that are 15 chunks away look exacly the same as the one your standing on.) ?

@@GregorianMG The whole point of my comment was that the "silly string" mechanics were used for things _other than producing string._ For example, silly string could be used to stop the end platform from regenerating. Building a spider farm won't do things like that. I guessing that you assumed this was just "technical players whining about exploits being removed because now they'll have to do things the hard way" and didn't bother to actually think about what I'd written?

@@Sopsy_Hallow Its inmersive portals, that shot isn't possible in vanilla minecraft due to how far you can see things inside the portal, and evn if they were 1 or 2 blocks far, it would be very noticeable.

That's not what they do, it's specifically addressing a game breaking bug where they Would spawn way too far away. They now have to spawn closer

@@jamwrightiam So the parameters on the y axis haven't changed but the parameters on x and z have? Or the parameters on the y axis have actually gotten smaller? I'm really lost here, I haven't done a raid in years because I got sick of not being able to find the last mobs and end the raid without spending way too much time just looking around a seemingly empty village. I appreciate attempts to fix that I'm just trying to make sure they actually have fixed it before I get my hopes up

@@ChartreuseDan It's a new limit to where raid waves are allowed to spawn. The conditions are still the same, just a bit more limited, but the game also tries harder to succeed.

if it was an end update, it wouldnt be a drop, it would be a yerly update. And I think if they do it they shouldnt do what the better end people did, that mod brings so much life to the end when it is actually supposed to be near lifeless and empty. If they add something they should have the end's core essence into account.

While there are a lot of bug-fixes (I love to see focus on those) and performance improvements I'm still not happy with this update. This will be know as the Bundles of Disappointment update. The bundle prototype was perfect. It showed ALL stacks inside in a clean and easy-to-look-at UI. And it was consistent as you had to use the bundle both to put items into it and taking them out. The 1.21.2 bundle is different. Now (as illogical as it is) we have to attack the item with the bundle to put it in and use the bundle to take the item out. Also the new UI is ugly and difficult to use. Scroll-wheels are notorious for scrolling too far or too short. I have long since stopped using it to navigate my hotbar. I've used keys to pick the exact slot for years now. But when trying that with the bundle to choose items I only put the bundle in that new slot instead of selecting the item. I'm sorry, but as a long-time user of bundles this is a disappointing update.

Why wouldnt the *Additional* Functionality be Right Click? @@higueraft571 You are correct in that there are not enough keys to make finding one specific item in a bundle feasible. And I should perhaps have made it clear that I don't want to be able to pick out one item. The LIFO principle works very well for bundles. The bundle UI of 1.21.2 is bad since it (potentially) will hide stacks from the player. You will have to empty it to see what's inside. This is cumbersome when dealing with multiple bundles at once. Not everyone remembers what's in a bundle from one playsession to the next. The bundle is still useful, of course. And for people not having seen it before it will probably be exciting. However, as a bundle user for years I am disappointed that they made it a worse experience to use it. What I really wanted was for the prototype bundle to be included in the game without any changes.

wait wait wait wait wait. so when you are creating a realm you can do data packs, that's great! but what if the world already exists or was played in? can you still add data packs after that?! I've been playing on a realm that has a pretty old world and is RIDDLED with endermen griefing... PLEASE tell me that we can add data packs to fix existing worlds...... (ok not fix but add prevention from further destruction)

@@slicedlime thanks for the reply! unfortunately that's not possible for me.. it's actually a friend's realm and that process is incredibly painstaking (to get my buddy to go into the files lol) plus the file is so big it takes a crazy long time. the ability to open the data pack browser after a world has been created would be immensely useful. is that what this update allows us to do? (that was my original question..)
