Hope you enjoyed this one! It took forever. 😅 Link for the Nostalgia+ texture pack I made is in the description. Quick rant about the audio: If you're noticing inconsistencies in the volume, it's because of KZbin's new "Stable Audio" setting that they enabled for you by default. It dramatically increases the volume in moments where I'm not talking, causing the music and game sounds to be way too loud. There is nothing I can do to fix this, BUT you can disable it for yourself in the video's settings menu to have the viewing experience I intended/created. Gotta love spending hours perfecting your audio just for it to be ruined by some new setting that most viewers don't even know exists. 🤣🤦♂️

When I was 7. I was diagnosed with pediatric cancer (large t-cell anoplastic non Hodgkins Lymphoma). My sister had Alpha on her school computer and I started playing in Alpha during my time at the hospital. I’d go on to get an Xbox 360 when I was 8 and I played this game for about 10 years and saw a majority of these updates unfold. All the changes. I don’t play anymore because I’m now nearly 21 and I’m working 2 full time jobs but I have my select few YT channels. Fell in love with Aust because of his editing, mood and overall commitment to his projects. This video in particular spoke to me and made me a little emotional honestly because it showed me really how far the game has come from what I once knew it to be and since I stopped playing around the nether update. Bro your editing and transitions are why I subscribed in the first place, the very first one was so damn smooth and I need to shout out 27:18 that one was Stunning. Every single time you have a block break to match the music it brings me even more joy. Blew me away on the first video I watched and continues to bring me so much enjoyment. Genuinely my favorite editing style I've seen on KZbin. The amount of incredibly small cuts and attention to detail it takes to make so many breaking/places blocks in a small section all match the rhythm is so impressive. I'm typing as I watch and like 45:16 area is such a prime example of it and it's so mindblowing to me every time I see you do it again. And the expressions and jokes you do with your reskinned totem is always a blast, such a strong concept and always hilariously executed.

So many things to say about this video, but to summarise, you're a boss! 1. The transitions just get better and better. Love them all. 2. I really appreciated how you highlighted the biomes in (I think it was) the update that changed the world. That must've taken a lot of effort. 3. The video provides a unique perspective of the history of the game and gives you a feel for the thought processes of the developers. 4. The montages are classic Aust, superb quality. 5. The end tour reminded me of a Michel Gondry film. The blooper reel over the tip of it reminded me of the early days of DVDs when we had audio commentary and outtake extras. Loved it. 6. The texture packs. You really didn't have to, but the fact you did is just *chef's kiss* I don't care how long it takes until the next @Aust video, it will be worth the wait. No pressure!

Every time I hear “I set off to collect dolphins” I feel dread and pity. Discovering the horrible AI of dolphins from trying to capture one isn’t fun. Edit: Surprisingly, the worst of it didn’t happen. When you go too far away from Dolphins their AI just stops working completely. They do not move at all. And because they cannot swim, they can’t get air, leaving them to suffocate and die. The only way to keep a dolphin alive is by trapping it in a bubble column, because that gives it the necessary air to live while still being in the water.
