Carlos Baerga said the other day on his Pod that the Red Sox have offered a 3 years with an option for Alex Bregman. I also think there’s mutual interest because he hits well at Fenway, but Baerga says he wants 5 years.

Looks like Breslow isn’t exactly desperate to get a RH bat. At least not wanting to tie up with Boras for 5-7 years! All this must indicate the team is expecting better health and growth from prospects to INCREASE offensive output. I do worry about 3B defense, but we’re finding out that prospects are willing to get some time at other positions. If it doesn’t work out they can make a midseason trade at the deadline. Many money dumps from teams raising up white flag.

I could see a 2 year deal with an opt out after 1 year and maybe incentives or a 3 year deal with opt outs after year 1 and year 2 with incentives. I don't think they want a long term contract because I believe they're going to try for Vladdy next to off-season in free agency. If the Mets want him though, Henry won't get into a bidding war with Cohen, so we'll see. It kinda makes sense because they haven't signed any long term deals and all these Casas trade rumours. They'll never admit any of this though.

Thanks for going through all of these, Corbin! I might not have bothered to learn any of this stuff otherwise. I believe Roman Anthony, Kristian Campbell, and Marcelo Mayer have not officially gotten their non-roster invites to spring training, but at Fenway Fest Alex Cora was talking about how they'll get at bats in spring training, so we know those invites must be coming. Not that you would have bothered to break them down if they were on the list already - everyone here knows plenty about these guys by now.

I’m intrigued by Stock and Fulmer. I’d love to see Fulmer be called up after an injury on the big club and rip through lineups. Also gotta love Isaiah Campbell, the only MLB player in history born in the Azores, Portugal.

If you looked back on last year's list of invitees to spring training of these broken, recovering or reinvented players could you find someone that contributed anything significant to the team? Just curious... I think Fulmer has a decent chance to make the team if others aren't ready to start the season. Thanks Corbin!

Yeah I think Weissert was on that list, Booser was on that list, Campbell was on that list, a lot of guys who contributed last year were non roster invites

If Campbell changes his usage and shows a little more commitment to the fastball he could be a piece this year. I get the Sox and the rest of baseball is devaluing the fastball but there is some predictability issues and control issues when you’re throwing 80% slider/sweepers. If he can get back to 45-50% fastball he has a chance to stick

Die Hards huh? :) I think Stock looks a lot like someone Bailey wants to tinker with. His delivery looks conducive to the sweeper, and he does have a lot of movement on all of his pitches. Hopefully Stock has found something with his new mechanics, and I think Bailey and Breslow might see something.

I like that we signed Campbell, as he really didn't get to show much with his injury and when he did come back to pitch it wasn't too hot. Zavala is depth, Eaton same....Mata we should have moved on....another great video....I will miss the live....my gym is Wednesday nights after work 😢

All i know is its 25 days till spring training and the sox STILL haven't gotten a right handed bat.fixed the infield defense or traded Yoshida. I like the pitching additions but think we still need a closer. And they haven't replaced O'Neils power or production

Right now the 40 man has 25 pitchers and 15 position players. Typically teams carry 22 or 23 pitchers. Gotta think there is some trimming to be done to the staff - will make it super hard for a NRI to make the team. That said I really want to see what Mata can do when healthy.

Looking forward to tonight. I don't put much stock in the Mexican League which is basically a AA level league. If Mata is healthy he could be huge in the bullpen. He's better out of the bullpen. He can be a beast. I've seen him both in Portland and Worcester. His biggest issue is control.

i’m really ok with these minor league signings. they always seem to find diamonds in the rough with these guys and bullpen depth was such a huge issue with this team last year . i think andrew bailey would be a huge upgrade to these guys careers
